I recieved a call from a 917 area code on my caller id it listed ameyo he said that he was calling to lt me know that I received 5000 in Free Grant money that I don't have to pay back but order to received the money I had to call 202-684-3503 which I did not.  It getting close to the holidays and there are all kind of scamers try to make a quick buck. Please before you research "business names and phone numbers" before giving out personal information or sending any money to "avoid" going to jail...

That should be Please research the business name and phone number before giving out your information...

Hello my name is Dennis Brown,
I have a complaint about a scam I got caught up in and I want these people off the street so this want happen to another person. Well I received a phone call Oct 31 telling me that they work for the United State Federal Grant Department and my name came up in the system to get 5 thousand dollars at this time I continue asking why my name and she stated that my name came up because I never been trouble, paid my bills on time, and I have a good job I ask how you got my information and she said it came up in the system right there was a red flag to me but I never thought nothing of this matter. So on Nov 1, 2011 they called me back asking me if I want the money and the only thing I have to do is send them 190.00 western union for security deposit so I did this and I don’t know what I was thinking I ask her again is this a scam and she continue telling me she was calling from Washington, Dc it really sounded like she were calling from a calling center it was a lot of noise in the back grown I’m thinking it was a recorder, she told me she’ll stay on the line until I get my money and soon as I sent her the money she transferred me to another person giving me another number so I could collect my money. I ask her you sure this is not a scam again and right I should’ve known better, well I call the number she gave me and this time it was a guy and he was like he’s the number to collect your money and the only thing you have to do is go to a western union and pick up your money. I went to western union and there were no money to be picked up so I called the number back and he said you have to pay 445 dollars in taxes to receive your money, so I sent the money western union again and I called the number back to no one answered. I got home and did some research on this so call Grant money and I called the 800 number and submitted this scam with the fraud department telling them my story, ok it get better I continue doing my own investigation and come to find out this has happen to a lot of folks and they use a lot of different numbers this is a big time felony and I would like some help on this because these people have my name my address and my phone number. I look up the number on Google and I’m guess there working in the District Of Columbia Washington, all these numbers they called from start with 202 this is scary and I don’t want another person to make the same mistake that I did.

I received the same phone call as Dennis, exactly.  I fortunately didn't send them any money and hung up on them. I then received a call back from this number, and the woman was spouting profanity on my voicemail. The woman sounded Indian... With dots, not feathers...

I just got a call from them to, saying exactly everything you said, but I didn't even have to give them my info because they were saying it ot me before I could, this is crazy and scary, who the hell are these people! I googled the number too, and it comes up as washington dc, ihope they catch these low lives and pit them away for a long time!

I received a call from these people as well. this time the number was a 575 number.

ameyo 213-283-0885 on 2/06/2013 then ameyo 800. Same voice same guy tells me he never called me before. Also a guy said i could get a loan but i had to wire him 300 and some dollars thru western union...yea right.#213-438-9833  in st petersburg fla.  asia pacific 971-208-9936. They third party calls if you hear ringing before anyone talks. Alot of unknown callers or no full numbers 20-5664.

W I have had the same issues. I have been receiving unknown calls and incomplete phone numbers along with the ameyo name since Friday. Luckily my phone company informed me of the call block app to install which was free . Since i have installed it they have not called as much . But this is definitely a scam it started from auto loan, payday loan now a school grant . Hopefully they get the point and disappear because i really don't want to change my number but i will if i have too.

Called me telling me about a security compromise in my PC. When he wasn't from my provider or security suite, I hung up. The caller ID said,"AMEYO"

I received this call today. They said I had been approved for 10,000.00 grant money due to they have checked my criminal history no record, I have always paid my taxes on time and never filed bankruptcy. Gave me a number to call back. It was a DC number and said I had to pay them 190.00 in order to collect the 10,000.00. I have not paid anything, but they had all my information and I am worried about what they will do with all the information they have on me....
