They told me that they are from US government and I have won some kind of money and thi is completely legal.

They called and said they would give me money if i went western union and gave 260.00 dollars to a foundation is this a scam or what they said they would give ne 7000.00 dollars if i paid 260.00 dollars to the federal reserve bank

I got a phone call telling me that I would be awarded $ 7,000.  They gave the this number to call but I believe this is a scam.

Same thing , they called me  telling me I got $7,000 from the  goverment and ask for my debit card or checking account to tranfer the money in my account, I refused and he said I can do it from the Western Union received that money cash.  I know is a scam

please   always  see the   "  forum "  section  first....!!!   most  issues and  questions  etc  are  already   answered  there  !!


more  than likely   (  99  %  )   one   of  the   several   "  202"  area  code  fraud  scams   going  around !!!

PLEASE  NOTE !!!   THESE  SCAMMERS  ARE ALSO IMPERSONATING   THE  US  GOV'T /  SEVERAL  GOV'T  OFFICES AND   PERSONS....BEWARE !!!

some  are landlines...many  are  cell phones...some  are  spoofed  and  linked  to  offshore foreign countries !!!!.........some  of  the  numbers have  already  been  "  disconnected"  by  the  scammers  !!!!  


we've  traced  back  most  of  these  numbers  to  offshore  foreign    call centers  in  INDIA /  THAILAND / AFRICA  /  JAMAICA  ETC....

here's a  few  other  numbers  posted  from  the   same  area  code  offering a  wide  variety  of  scams  /  fake  emails and  scams  after  posting  something  on   craigslist   (  old  scam  )  ...... collecting  for  non  existant  "  payday  loans "....free  money / scam  giveaways /  $1,000's  in  free  gov't  money.........  etc  etc.....stories  change  out  all the  time......and  the  usual  nonsense!!!

**   mysteriously  call to  claim  they  have  several  thousand  of  dollars  to  send  you....just  provide  you  bank  account and  credit  card   right  away   etc etc.........scam scam

several  of  these are  the  usual   long  ongoing  scams   such  as  :  you  have  won a  free  walmart /  bestbuy  gift  card....or  you  have  won a  free  ipad  etc......all  long  ongoing  scams

Just received a phone call from "US gov't" stating I had won a grant for $7000.  They gave a "confirmation number" and requested I call 202-684-6393 to confirm the funds being sent.  The options of VISA, MasterCard, checking account, or cash were given as means to send the money.  I could hear several voices in the background, akin to a call center.  The lady I spoke with had a noticeable Jamaican accent, not thick, but noticeable.  I have not, and will not, call this number.  The number the original call came from was:  970-002.  Do not answer this call!

They told me to call this number and I had til 10:30 tomorrow.that the gov.chose me

They just called me...I knew when they said the US government that it's a fake. When do the US government come to the hood and give away a check?

So how do i block these calls? Ive called my carrier, and because its not a full number their system cant block it? what can i DO???? please anyone help!?

Same old scam there is no such thing as free money. They called my cell phone. How do they get these numbers. Please don't give out your bank acct information, debit card or anything else. It's a foriegner calling .  Speaking beyond broken englissh...please beware......

A guy who called himself Ryan Hudson told me to call 202-684-6393 to qualify for $7,000 because I paid my taxes and had good credit.  He said he was from the U.S. Government Grants Department.  WHAT A SCAM.

a guy who called me brad jonsen who told me you will reserve $ 7000 because i can paid my taxes and had good credit hehe known his self U.S Government Grants Department. first time the guy he make me to pay $250.00 in western union which is going to cherity. and the second time he said you'll get $8080 grants.
paying $480.00 upon he told me i'll transfer money to your account within 15 minites. and than he told me you'll get money before midnight. this is happen today by August 13 2012. and still i didn't get it. his name is erik emin. but still i didn't know this true or fake. the first phone number is 1-202-657-6252 which is brad jonsen and the second phone number is 1-917-720-3031. and still he making the fake pretend.

Its samething happen with me they told me to give $8080 U.S government grants. they make me payment two times first time were $260.00 and second times were $478.00 which is for $8080. and also he told me you'll get money right after you pay in western union within 15 minites and than he told me by mid night you'll get 110% isware my god. and aslo they got my bank account number.

Omg!!! I knew it had to be a scam. I got dis call for past few days. I didn't pick up till today. He said i won $7,000 dat they were only trying to help. He said if i want it in check or cash.
Then he gave me a pin number and told me to call 202-558-0345
It's FAKE!!

Fake & scam. Please be careful don't give them your bank account information because they will take all your money. They are gifted at what they do and will make u believe u actually won that money some will call and say you won $7,000 or $10,000 but you have to pay a decent amount for charity or for security reasons etc. If you don't give them your bank information they will hit you with the Western Union [***]. I almost fell for it thank God my delinquent uncle told me it's a scam I didn't understand why they could take the money from the $7,000 . I even called them back to mess with them lol. And he called me a [***] and hangup lol. It's hilarious but dangerous they sound Indian or Arab.

Yea same thing happened to me offering me $7000 because I had good credit and a fair amount tax payer. They asked if I wanted it in visa, MasterCard, direct deposit or cash. They gave me a verification number as well and told me to call some 202 number. I called them knowing its a fake and they did not pick up. Crazy....

they called me too and said they want to give me $7000. to go to school and pay my debts and they even gave me a claim #.
This # needs to be added to the list too, 202-697-9373. Watch out for the crooks anonymous!!!!!!!!
