It is a poor version of the "IRS is coming to get you" scam. But of course, I clled the number given but got no answer. I guess the scammers are union and go home at 5:00.

Called and left a message to call them immediately. Didn't say who they were or to whom they wanted to speak.

Lol. These clowns called my cell phone (unlisted number) and said its is suing me. Even if you do owe money, it's always sends notification via certified mail ( you have to sign for it)

Scam call with automated recording of IRS is filing a lawsuit against me, with a number to call back.  We all had a good laugh:
1.  The IRS will not call you with some crappy recording, they mail you letters.
2.  When you talk to the IRS they don't call themselves the IRS.
3.  The accent is so thick that you can hardly understand the words.  The real IRS would not let someone with this limited mastery of the language work the phone lines.
4.  I can't wait to publish this number on every webpage I visit so that spambots can troll and pick-up the number adding it to every telemarketers list in existence!

Getting many calls/messages from this number.  They state they are the IRS and are suing us and they want us to call them back.  No chance on that. The calls need to stop.  Aggravating to say the least...

Got message on home phone saying that the IRS was going to sue me and that I should call this number.  Did so, got no answer and no voice mail message.  BOGUS.

They left a message saying this was a final attempt by the IRS before filing a law suit. How can this be legal. What a scam. Who is doing this and why?

It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

Google IRS phone scams they are useing a spoof number they are calling from over sea in the Middle East from a calling center I have a friends that are cops and people fall for this scam every day. The guy that I talked had a common llike Jason white yea right  he told how I was going jail and a lawsuit filled vs me and and read me charges that he said I did he ask me if I had a lawyer he try make scared also I would say how can I resolve it nepdont even call back the number always do your home work on these scams the more people that make complaints the better. This crazy said the cops will be at my door in 1 hour that's was 5 days ago. Beware off this IRS scam this not real use common sense do not tell them info about u.

Got a call from IRS stating the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and to get more information on the lawsuit to call immediately 202-684-6491. I did and it rang twice and then nothing. Looked up the phone number on Google and it got me to this page. After reading some of the testimonies I can't believe I was even worried about the phone call.i feel so bad for the people that got scammed. These guys and gals should be put in front of a firing squad and slowly start shooting at their feet and work your way up until they are almost dead and then set them on fire to finish the job. This would send a message for people that want to get into this line of work

If get a call don't get up set if a scam  I called my phone company and blocked the number and they also said they gets calls a lot from people about these scams best thing don't call back they want get to  the  your info off there caller id and see who number the phone name is under they will say stuff u will go to jail there a law suit out vs u all types of crazy stuff to try to get paid .  People have to educated them selves about this types off scams everything is done off the computer they act like cop they told I had 5 charges vs wanted to no if I had lawyer ask me if there was mart close to my house and get money gram and pay them or they put me behind the bars lol. I did receive a phone call today February 19, 2016 at 1:53 from the number 202-684-6491.  However, in addition to this phone call I received an email with more or less the same information... IRS is suing you and asking me to open an attachment.  I have ignored both the phone call and the email.... but I wonder what do these scammers gain from this and is there anyway they can be caught and brought to justice if they are doing it for intended fraud.

IRS called me today Feb. 19, 2016 at 1:30 from this # 202-684-6491. This guy with Indian accent ask for my name for verification purposes, I told him you should know my name, you are calling me, he insisted for my name, I told him that he should know it, he hang out, funny!!!

Scam call from the IRS said for me to call them they have been trying to reach me and that they are starting a lawsuit against me
