Just received a call from 918-042-637809 and a man (very heavy east Indian accent) told me I had been selected to receive a grant of 7,000. He have me "money confirmation number" and another phone number to call. "Randy Orwell" went on to explain that I just needed to put down a deposit of 190 at the nearest Western Union to receive my grant money. Thought this was a scam so I Googled the numbers and looks to be a scam.

Have received numerous calls from 918-042-637809 on my cell phone over the past couple of days. Missed all until this afternoon. It was a man with a very pronounced Indian or Pakistani accent. I couldn't understand much of what he said, but enough to know it was some crap about receiving $7,000. I hung up on him. Seriously???

You just got scam... well not really.. at least you know it's a scam.

i just got the phone call too! its like if you were to go to the western union you would be attacked or something!! he said to call when i got there and that he would give me 7000!! what in the world these people are nuts!

Got a call from an unavailable number, women with heavy Indian accent informed me I was chosen to receive a $7,000 grant for paying my taxes etc... Gave me a number to call 202-684-6564 and told me to ask for Randy Orwell and give me my money confirmation #. Haven't called, and after reading these posts I don't think I will.

I just got the call with the the same direction. I must admit, I wanted to go through with it. However, after thing about it and doing some research, I am super glad that I did not do it. The internet is a beautiful thing when it comes to situation such as this one.

I just got a phone call from the same heavy accent, telling me the government chose me for a grant for $7,000 because I pay my taxes and have no criminal background. I told him the government doesn't look for people to give money to like that and it sounds like a scam. He assured me it wasn't and gave me a "confirmation number" As well as the same phone number to call 202-684-6564 to ask for Randy Orwell. What do these people actually think that there are that many people out there to believe that money will just fall into their laps? At least he told me Merry Christmas when he hung up.

I just received this call too! I have had several missed calls from this number and today was the first time I talked to them. Indian/Pakistanian accent and wanted to let me know that I will receive 7,000 and to call Randy Orwel also. I talked to the guy who called me and he told me his name was Sam Burban and they are from the departement of educational grants. Said their address is 200 Independence Avenue in Washington DC at the triple axe building area code 20201. So I called "Randy Orwel" @ 2026846564 and it wouldn't let me through until after several attempts. I wanted to talk to this supposed Rany Orwel to see why the department would be working on a Saturday... knowing this was a scam I finally got through and the guy was RUDE and said he was Randy Orwel. I told Mr. Orwel that I wanted to know why his company was calling me and that I thought it was a scam he then said "Then maybe you shouldn't call me b*&tch" and hung up. WOW...

I just receive a like call stating you canb get a $7000 grant. I google their number and lead me to this site.

just got a call on my cell phone from a heavy accented man saying i had grant money coming from the us government for $7000.  He wanted to know the closest western union office so they could get the money to me.  also was told to go on line to google and type in teamviewer.com and answer some questions from there.  told him i did not have may computer on and he said he would call back in 2 hrs.  glad I read these statements. I won't be answering that call.

I just received a call from a local # claiming he is calling from Washington DC. Also named Randy Orwell.  I didn't give him the chance to tell me what he wanted in exchange.  Govt. grants don't ask for money from you or deal with Western Union.

robot saying that it is the final call from the IRS. It said that I am being sued by the IRS.

just got call from 202-684-6564 voice recording informing me IRS is after me for past due. We don't owe IRS, SCAM time of the year. BEWARE!!!!

same here, just got a recorded call saying IRS is suing me and asked me to call back.  SCAM!!!

I just got that I'm being Sue by the IRS B.S.

I received a call on our home phone with the called ID displaying "Washington     DC"
In a very robotic computer voice, the message left stated...
"Hello. This call is officially a final notice from IRS. Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file please call immediately on our department number. 202-684-6564. I repeat. 202-684-6564"

i called the number back and a man with a Middle Eastern Accent answered, he asked for my name, my phone number, and who i filed my taxes with, i complied and he proceeded to tell me that there was a mistake on my taxes and that i owe 1600 plus dollars, he did know my previous address and said three notices have been sent, he got a little angry when i asked for Official Letterhead and that i wasn't going to send a check to without knowing this was a scam, then he got more upset when i said i would contest the amount and threaten to get courts and law enforcement involved. looked at the IRS website it stated that they would not threaten with law enforcement. SCAM!!!

Scam caller left message"Hello this call is from the IRS. This call is a to officially notice that the IRS is filling a lawsuite against you. To get more information about this call, call 202-684-6564. I repete call 202-684-6564"

202-684-6564 automated recording left a message saying it is an official final notice from the IRS, that they are filing a lawsuit against me, to call this 'official department number' back to get more information. The news recently reported that IRS call scams are high, that the IRS will not call you, they mail an official letter if there is an issue.
