It's a scam!! There is no "transaction"!

Received a call stating I've been awarded a $10,000 Gov't. grant. I didn't call the number back with the so called confirmation code because I figured this to be a scam. Is it ?

Yes, definitely a scam!  They need you to send money before releasing the 'grant'.  When I asked for clarity as to how I was to set up my deposit, the lady on the phone became angry with me.  When I continued calling her on it, she became angry, told me don't call back and hung up on me.  The Fed doesn't work that way!

They called me I almost fell for it i sent the money through E gram and was able to retrieve it back before withdrawn.. They called me back I told to give me the address to retrieve the grant.. and that was that No Response...

I just got this call with them telling me to go to western union to pick up the money and i need to have them on the phone because the money is not in my name its in the federal reserve. They also said i needed to put a $200 deposit which will be refunded back to me. Weird, that's when i figured it was a scam. If i'm getting money for free why do i need to give them money to send it to me?

This a scam got a call just use common sense  when they money orders or money grams 98 percent it a scam there even signs in stores about this scams right by the wester union.
