8000 free grant. Wanted 250 dollars. When questioned they hung up.

1. There is NO GRANT,  You need to apply in order to get one.
2. It is illegal to have to pay upfront in order to get a loan, grant, or prize.

Grant scams:

The government does not call people up and offer them free money because you paid your taxes on time, have never been arrested, have paid all your bills, or whatever excuse they can make up.  In order to get a grant you need a valid reason (not one of the above and not just because you need money), you have to fill out tons and tons of paperwork, wait a long time, and might not even get the grant in the end.  If you are lucky enough to get the grant after all that paperwork, they do not ask you to pay taxes, transfer fees, or any other types of fees.  Also, please note that the government would never ask you to pay these so called taxes or fees to some anonymous person using Western Union, Moneygram, or any of the cards such as iTunes cards which is a new favorite among foreign scammers.

Grant moneys

They called my phone  with my first and last name but I didn't know my age and they would even send me text messages from a weird number of a website they told me I had got a free Grant and I needed to go to Western Union  so I can get the money but first I had to pay $258 to your card but I was going to get their money back also what seems kind of fishy to me because you don't have to pay for granted and to top it  all of everyone knows when you purchase a gift card you cannot trace where your money goes to so I didn't believe what they were saying and I asked the woman that I was talking to on the phone if I could speak to someone else she got mad and hung up these were just some of the things that made me believe it was a scam  what is the link they sent me  http://obama.net/personal-grants/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Recovery_and_Reinvestment_Act_of_2009

They asked me my age I told the guy I was 102 he hung up.

Got a call saying I got a grant for 8000 an I have been applying for them made the mistake of giving them 300.00 to have the funds wired into my account

Caller claimed to be from US Treasury Dept and I had been randomly pick for a grant from treasury dept of $5280.  I was given a claim number and a phone number to call to redeem grant.  I was told it would cost me $299 to have grant wired to me or I could have it direct deposited into my bank account.  At that point I hung up

This 202 no#is this government grant only want you to give up your money for they surpose grant from the Government amount of 9,200.00 going to be giving up the money from Western Union it surpose be back on the check that people expect to get from them your money,they called me and said I won $9,200.00  a grant from the federal government the go on Liberty Heights Ave at Walgreens so when I get to the Walgreen parking lot to call Gabriel back  then I go in Walgreen they talk on a open line so that somebody that is working in Walgreen is working for these people's​ a DAMN lie this sh***t is wrong
