received a call on today, very rude lady claiming to be  a law firm

Received a call from this number at a relatives house in a different state from me. They left a message on their voicemail stating they were letting me know of a civil complaint being filed against me in a different county from where they called to...yadda..yadda..yadda...and I am suppose to appear in court...hmmm Where and when? They did not say. Is this legal for them to do this. They say I am suppose to call as soon as possible. I looked up any pending cases in my area and there are none. It sounds like a collection agency of some type that thinks it is ok to threaten people like that.

So, how did they get your info? So, the satilite office was giving you one last chance for What?  Don't they have to take you to court before they can garnish?

So, was your debt and old one? Every state has a statue of limitations...and you could had it dimissed if you disputed it. I think most staute of limitations is 5-6 years and after that they can't collect on it unless you agree to it or have made attempt to pay on it since it ran out. Sorry about your luck.

Was the ladies name Kim Blackman???

they cannot get garnishment without going to court.
They cannot go to court without serving you - some CA's will claim you were served when it never happened.
Some CA's will falsify court filings - hoping you do not show up to dispute them.    

Did you get served?
If not the garnishment is illegal and you can have it overturned. As you did not have a chance to appear in court.
SOME COLLECTION AGENCIES WILL PROVIDE BOGUS GARNISHMENT PAPERS TO EMPLOYER AS WELL.

Reseived the same call from a Kim lady!! Telling me they want to take me to court..They have to be a collection company!!

These people keep calling my cell phone. The said my mother has a account with them and that I was named in the claim and so is one of my teachers from high school. I graduated like 10 years ago so it confused me. They sent me a e-mail and when the did this I replyed and the never called me back.

Just got a call from this number. A female on the other end was looking for a Michael Roland. I don't know anybody by that name! She said she will take my # off the list. Strange! Don't know how my cellph# ended on her list, unless someone just randomly put a phone number. I wonder if she was from a Collection agency.

Michael Johnson called my sister's cell phone and left a message stated that he wanted to see she was related to me and if so to leave a message for me letting me know that I have a civil claim against me.

Kim Blackman called me today and left me a message that she was looking for a women.  I called back and the lady that answered the phone asked if I knew a Kim ? and had cosigned with her on a loan.  I told here that I did not know that lady or anyone named Kim, she said sorry and that she would remove me from the list.

received a call first from kim blackman claiming to be a civil claims officer... when i called back she named an address where i had never lived and 2 people i had never heard of and said i owed money to a payday loan... i have never received anything like that and explained this to her.. she named an old bank account that i had closed due to fraud and started to argue w/ me... she ultimately hung up when i continued to question the alegations...  
she called 2 weeks later claiming now to be an investegator and that i had never returned her first call and a summons would be sent out...
a final call was made by civil claims processor john singleterry stating the same thing
after doing research online- this is a SCAM!!!
by law they are not allowed to continue to call and harass once initial contact is made.  DO NOT give them any personal information!

Someone is trying to get me to lock into a financial agreement.I don't know if it is a scam, I am skeptical.

a caller (marie johnson) called my daughter from this number claimng i was being sued and must appear in court???  attend court???  what??? a scam for sure  do not give out any information ....

That is a Collection Agnecy using a new "approach" being used by debt collectors. Don't let them intimidate you.

I got a call from this agency and they're threatening me,to pay on an old payday loan and then it was for $300 now they say I owe $1600.Can they do that?they even threaten my family members,can they do that?

I received a call from a lady calling herself Amanda Miller. She left a message saying I had a civil complaint against me and I needed to contact their office immediately to settle. The number in reverse look up comes back to a 24hour emergency lock service. I don't know anything about money owed so I came to this site and saw this is exactly the calls I get.

This is a SCAM!! This number is a residence..My relative was getting calls about me scaring her into believing i was being sued etc..I too had to close a bank account because of fraud. Is this them???   weird DO NOT give them ANY information!!
