Received a call from 202-751-2544 this morning with a message which insinuates that I am about to be charged with tax evasion and fraud and will be arrested unless I return the call. The guy is almost yelling into the receiver and has a heavy foreign accent and indicates that there is about to be a federal charge. Needless to say, my response has been to record the message and I am on my way to file a police report. I don't expect it to do much good but they were kind enough to leave a number to call. Knowing our local police department, they may take them up on their kind offer. Definitely glad I gave in and got caller ID a few years ago... I no longer answer any call with a non-local number. If you really want to reach me, I figure you will leave a proper message. No message, no need for me to waste my time answering.

Same caller as Dr. E above - Vivian Sanders - caller trying desperately to speak clear English, threatening IRS sanctions due to tax fraud.  Stated he was from the tax audit dept of the IRS and to call the 202 751 2544 number to prevent arrest, etc.  I guess they think we don't know that the IRS would never call and leave a VM - always written notification.

I got a call from this same number, the caller was threatening, I reported this to the local police, state attorney general and the federal government, I am a federal officer and will get to the bottom of this, that alleged Vivian Sander can use some jail time, his accent is from outside the USA. Let's get him/her and make sure prosecution is followed through.

Call on my answering machine from Vivian Sanders stating they were from IRS Tax Audit Department/Fraud Tax evasion division.  I should use the call back number 202 751 2544 and discuss details before they went to the Federal Courts with info.  Caller said "my name" had come before them (but did not provide any name.)  I felt like this was a scam, but sure glad I was not an elderly person without the resources to do a little investigating on my own.  Call showed up on my caller ID as a private caller and no answer when I called the 202 number to see who or what might answer.  Will definitely report this incident to link indicated.

Received call today on my voicemail from Vivian Sanders tax audit dept IRS. 1-202-751-2544 re tax evasion. Glad I am not the only one that will get arrested. Definitely a scam.

7/7/14 received vm from Vivian Sanders stating he was from the Tax Audit Dept IRS re: income tax evasion and tax fraud and something about me getting arrested. It showed unown name and unknown number. Told me to call him back at 202-751-2544.It is a scam and this should not be allowed. Many others have gotten the same call from him

Yes, I also received this call twice. The second time they said to call 888-390-7878. I did not call either number as this is a scam!

I too received this same message saying to call 202-751-2544 or else I would be arrested for federal tax evasion/tax fraud charges. Obviously a scam but I worry about those who may fall for it-please make your friends and family aware of this scam! Also, this may be a coincidence but several days earlier I had a missed call on my landline, showing it was from ME and MY LANDLINE PHONE NUMBER! Read the thread regarding "received call w/my own name and number on caller ID" listed on the right side of this page-looks like another way of scamming people and causing headaches.

I got a message from 888 - 390 - 7878 .. I am a real IRS Tax Compliance officer ..the message cracked me up its so fraudulent ... but if your taxpayer and need to talk to some call ( IRS ) TIGTA and report this fraud .

Received a voicemail message after my husband hung up on the caller a few minutes earlier.  It was a person by the name of Albejan (spelling?).  Very hard to understand and had to listen to the call several times.  Said he was from the IRS and they had received a legal petition notice with my name associated with tax evasion or fraud (hard to understand) but that I should contact them before federal charges were made or before I got arrested.  Call back number was 202-864-1319,  

just tried telling me that i had money i could receive if i call back 202 751 2540 back with this reference number
