I just received a call from this number. They left a message saying "congratulations member" and stating that I had been "approved" for a credit card and to call back to activate the card. I suspect a scam, but either way I am registered on the national do not call list and have been for at least a good month and probably two.

SAME THING SCAM lots of these numbers are calling my phone.... This is harrassment.. some guy named peter. I called back and just repeated everything he said to him till he hung up on me...

Sometmes use giving new credit cards to collect OLD legally worthless debts.  they give a credit card and then charge the amount of the debt ( they make up or have in a spreadsheet) as the 1st charge

They do not tell you they are debt collectors -they use the credit card to scam you into paying a debt you may not owe at all.  More than likely they cannot PROVE you owe it either!

If you did not apply for a credit card - be suspicious of anyone offering you one!

I need info on this number they called me harassing me and when I finally answer they said fu n hung up when I called back to speak to a manger the proceeded to ask sexual content questions very inappropriate

I received a call saying that I had $2500 credit in Membership Clubs and to call back on 720-282-0297.  No way I'll call them!!!  They have left at least three voicemails on my cell phone so far.

They keep calling my phone asking for a sharon and i keep telling them this is not her phone they act rude then hang up on me. i get this call atleast three times a day. this is harrassment.

and file a complaint against them, if you are registered on the National Registry. I do this for every one I receive, and I never get another call.

Just more scum. scammers, lowest of the low telemarketers.

They just called my number. Ringer is shut off so I gladly missed it. I have been on the do not call list......they still call.

Added them to my ILLEGAL CALLS contact, which has a silent ringtone.  So at least they won't bother me again ... until they change their number, which these scum frequently do.

Independent Voter Research call center. I picked up the second call and they transferred me to a short automated survey about upcoming presidential election.

Never heard of them  We're on the do not call list.

I get multiple calls from this number but no one ever says anything they hang up so I just do not answer lucky I have free incoming on my plan or it would be costing me a lot of cash.

been seeing the 202 area code (Wash. DC) calls on my cell phone.  most smartphones have call blocking apps available.  the one I have works pretty well.  doesn't help much when the same [***] keep changing their number though, but at least the call blocking app stops them.  not too much trouble to check the call history, then choose "block number".  many folks these days are have cell phones surgically implanted to their bodies anyway, so it's not a stretch.  

home phone blockage is a different matter.  The Do Not Call Registry doesn't do much good.  I've posted here before that the DNCR only works to block numbers of individuals or organizations that have not "legally" obtained your number in some fashion.  quotes on 'legally' because their methods of obtaining your contact info are shady, but not entirely illegal.  we put our information into the cybersphere almost daily.  anytime you do business online and have to submit your personal information, regardless of the security of the site, you still agree to provide your information.  privacy policies are what they are, but if you take the time to read the fine print, you'll notice they have funny clauses about "affiliates" having the right to obtain your information as well as the person/organization to whom you supply your information directly and willingly.  through unseen partnerships and affiliations, unknown to most of us, these scammers obtain your contact info and then spam and scam the crap out of us.   Do Not Call is thus pointless.

I jus got a call from this number to my cell. she talks a hundren words for second, I said Hold on, and I ask where are calling from, she hund up... *** why DC is calling FL ***  for sure are scann phone calls.

202-808-3075 Independent Federal Research. They are conducting a survey for the 2012 election. I have done the survey. Its only a few questions. Taking the survey does not stop the calls tho. When they called again I told them i took the survey they apologized and said have a good day and hung up. They called a third time and i explained to this person that I took the survey and told the last person I spoke to that I took the survey. I asked to be put on a do not call list and they gave me a number to call to be put on the do not call list. Turned out to be just an out going message.

There is nothing that can be done to stop these calls. The reps that call will not help put you on a do not call list. They will stop in November, after the election.
