A foreigner contacted my cellular phone today, exclaiming that my name had been randomly chosen by the IRS to receive free grant funds.  The individual was requesting personal banking information and the only info. he was willing to provide was this no. along with another gentleman's name Mr. Brandon Ward.  The no. the man provided was the above no. listed at 202 808 3678.

I got the exact same call. he said I could receive $8400 in free grant money, but the only way to receive it was through my credit/debit card or banking account. I asked if he would call me back after I called "Brandon" to verify that this was legitimate. he said that they are very busy and that I shouldn't call if I don't want the grant money. I found this http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0113-government-grant-scams 
and it sounds pretty similar to the stuff he said to me. Btw, the # he called from was 202-666-3431

It is a scam.
The way it works is they claim you can only get the money from them if you let them transfer it directly in to your bank or credit account.
To do this they claim they need certain account info, however the info they say they require is "two way" as in it not only lets someone put funds into your account, but also lets them remove funds with no limits.
You give them the info, they clean out your account.

Indian sounding woman, called me claiming to be the US treasure Department. She went on to say that I had randomly been selected to receive around $8500. Sarcastically I replied, "oh wow". She went on to say, "I bet you are wondering why you have been selected to win this money?". I retorted sarcastically, "No, but I bet youre going to me!!"

She hung up.

Theyve called two days in a row now. I'm hoping for 3.

I've been receiving these phone calls, and just received one today so I answered and  they said I have been selected from Treasury Department To see some phones off $8,400, And I said how do I know if this is true she said well you can give me a debit card with zero balance on it and we will deposit your money there so I said okay fine, so I gave her my debit card number she took my information and she said you will get a car for someone else which is Brian Warde he's the one that will transfer your money, then I was like okay then when I spoke to him he asked me for $211 and I asked him why I do I have to give you 200 11 when you're giving me a $8400 why can I give it to you when I receive this money he said no it does not work like that, so I told him what I don't have the money now let me find the money and I'll get back to you he said he need to get back to me today I said I will, so then that's when I looked it up and you sure was a SCAM, And then another thing he didn't want for me to send him the hundred eleven dollars through my day he wanted me to do it thru moneygram, of course because I would of been screwed!
Its like they say......... Too good to be true, dont let these fools get you guys!

Scam calling from 202 808 3678... no way to call back the number that called the first time which was 202 666 8041.........

The people from this number have been calling wanting my bank account info to scam me.

I got the call today and I called the Federal Reserve and they have an investigator to look into this it's a scam the [***] need to leave the US alone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
