- MikeHuntleton replies to TexasIts not the Federal Gov. calling you, its a scammer!
You can't be awarded a Grant if you did not apply for it. If you did and they do award you, they still won't call you or ask for a fee, since its free to apply and free to receive one if awarded.
What is a grant scam?
The allure of so-called "free money" from the federal government has enabled scam artists to prey on people's hopes by promising access to grants – often for a fee. In reality, federal grants are rarely awarded to individuals seeking personal benefits, and applying for a grant is completely free.

- Augusta, GASame ol', same ol'...I too love when I receive these calls. If I have time, I try to make them think that I'm interested, I'll talk either reeeeeeaaallly slow or realyfast (I'll do my best Forest Gump, Rain Man, Duck Dynasty, Dr. Squishy or Goofy. The Goofy causes them to hang up a little quick...I think it's because it's a little too obvious.) I tend to repeat everything the say but I intentionally make mistakes to force them repeat themselves. I try to see how long I can keep them on the line before they get aggravated with me and hang up. It's comical. I heard this from somewhere but the thought is that if they are on the line with me, who's knows of their scam, then they're not on the line with someone who would actually believe their scam. This one in particular said I won $950,000 and a pearl white 2018 Mercedes Benz. PEARL WHITE!!! Who wouldn't want that. I didn't...I ignorantly said "can get a green one instead....green is my favorites color." He wasn't amused. I also asked them if I could call them back because I had to call "mama" to let her know "we're going to get that shed we've been wanting." It was the Duck Dynasty voice. He said I had to stay on the line with him until UPS got to the house with my check. I said sadly, "well how mama gana know bout da shed." Once again, he wasn't too amused. I've been cursed out, hung up on, etc. I laugh at every one of them. A scammer DOES NOT like being scammed. My understanding is that there's no way to catch them, or even stop them, so why not have some fun with them. If you have time, help those who would fall for the scam by keeping them on the phone...like anything their time is money...don't get mad mad or block the call...turn the scam back on them. Oh, and be obnoxiously kind to them...that's another thing these people hate. When they start cursing...just swallow it and be kind. I'd like to think they remember by call when they lay their head down at night...maybe, just maybe one of my calls has lead to a scammer finding a more honest job...just maybe :)

- JJI heard him out. Sounded fishy the whole time though. At the end he says to call this other number and have a conversation with the financial manager or some jazz... that's when I was done. He says "spend your money wisely.." that's a good touch!

- Kat replies to Judy BurlisonMost definitely a scam! The government doesn't just give money away; grants must be applied for. And IF you qualify, you don't have to pay to receive it, which is what these scammers will tell you if you were to call that number. Just block and ignore such calls.
- Blond dawgSo i too can recieve 9000.00 so i told the gal that is way to much money for someone with my job. I told her i am a drug dealer and i am in India get that special tree for producing Molly if the us wants to grant me 9000 dont tell them where i am .but she would have to use her account so we could split the money. I only need about 4000.00. Then after several minutes i click the phone and say. Yes yes sir the trace is complete. Then i inform the caller that I work for the us and FBI we now have the address they are calling from and i tell them to please continue speaking while the swat team is getting ready. They hang up and usually about a year goes by before they call back. It all in fun to scam the scammer.
