- Mr.QThis number is being used by foreign individuals posing as Federal Agents from the IRS. They call to inform you of an outstanding arrest warrant against you. They offer you a way out buy providing some personal information (credit card, bank account) so they can garnish you wages. They also attempt to get more info out of you by pretending to know more than they do. Stand up to them and call them out on their [***]! My guys name was Ron Davis (from India) Badge # 994PNM2! Have fun with these guys. Ask for their supervisor's name and badge# and the location of their field office. Then tell them that you will be glade to go to the field office to "turn yourself in." Do worry because this IS NOT what they want from you. They want more information so they can steal your ID or your money!

- Boyd| 4 repliesThe number I had was 832 398-5017 out of Houston, Texas. Caller was Sean Marshall, supposed IRS agent, badge #9875017. Funny, that looks like a chunk of the phone number... He hung up on me when I started asking questions. Tried to call the number back and it couldn't be connected after 3 or 4 tries. Individual sounded like he may be from India.
- Dorothy Rector replies to Boyd| 3 repliesBoyd: I also got a call from a foreigner this past Friday, (Oct. 30, 2015), and he too, said his name was Shawn, (he spelled Shawn for me), and his last name was Marshall. His badge number was #9875017, and he was very RUDE. He said he came to my door twice, and I wouldn't come to the door, (lie), and he wanted to get this resolved. He said that there was a "miscalculation error" in my taxes, between the years 2008 thru 2013. He wanted to know if I had a bank account, so the money could be paid "today!!" I told him to give me PROOF of this, as I had no clue who he was. He said, "Look, if you don't get this done today, you WILL be arrested, OR, you will have to pay this, as I assure you, we have plenty of proof of what we say, and you will have legal fees on top of what you owe. Now, are you going to pay this TODAY?" I told him I would pay it WHEN I GET PROOF. SEND ME PROOF!! He ended up saying that he would put "proof" in the mail, and mail it to me. I ended up having a PANIC ATTACK over this SCAM, that almost put me in the hospital. I just HOPE this MONSTER calls me back. I am ready for him!!!
- Changyoon Jeong replies to Dorothy Rector| 1 replyI also received phone call from Shawn Marshall, and he said that there was a "miscalculation error" in my taxes, between the years 2008 thru 2013. I should pay $6125.00 now, unless he will process the legal action as criminal charge. He also said that his badge # is 9875017. The story was exact same as yours, but the phone # received was different. Mine was 504-558-3001. I checked internet, and I found the number at IRS Louisiana office, LA Taxpayer Advocate. I think he is using fake caller ID using a kind of software to hide original his number.
- Nick replies to Changyoon Jeongsame thing here :) but my uncle received same call from Shawn Marshall , what so funny he told him same amount $6125 to pay now or he is going to jail in 45 min hahahahhaha . so i called them and pretended to be FBI agent . he SH*T his pants his voice was shaking hahahahah i had fun by [***]*** with those Indians
- Buddy replies to Suzanne Filimon| 1 replyWant to know how easy it is to spoof caller ID? https://www.spooftel.com/
Why not? It seems that we live in an increasingly deceptive society. If the goal is denial of reality, or dismissal of it altogether, consider it "goal achieved". I am up to 4 to 6 calls a day from phone scammers. 98% of these calls are illegal organizations. It does not matter if you are on the National Do Not Call List. First, you have to find out who the company is and where they are located. They could be in New York, or they could be in India, but the caller ID says they are calling you from a number in Nebraska.
Lawmakers say there is nothing they can do about it because there are legitimate reasons for caller ID spoofing, and passing laws would cause undo harm to those "legitimate" reasons, all of which have to do with deceiving another party. So, I guess, in today's society, deception is a legitimate activity. No wonder the government is so [***] up and no wonder the corporate-ruled establishment doesn't want someone like Bernie Sanders in there messing with their deception.
