Caller I.D. says "Washington DC." Called business number and hung up when voice mail began. I suppose we are expected to think the government is calling about something important.

Caller ID only shows the number and does not reflect callers name, so to me this is an 'anonymous/unknown caller'...
Since the scammers and telemarketing hucksters have become so rampant, we simply quit answering calls from any caller we do not recognize coming to our personal lines. The problem is these folks keep calling our business line and never leave a message, yet they always disconnect when we answer their call (number is now on our blocked caller list). I did dial back using a VOIP number and got a recorded message which gives instructions for you to press this number or that for a specific interaction
(I did not interact using any of the prompts and recommend you do not either). After listening to the entire message, it became obvious that the call originated from either a scammer or telemarketer and is most assuredly NOT from the government.  Never did these folks identify the nature of their business nor the name of their company  If I recall FTC calling regulations correctly, telemarketers (at least legitimate ones) are required to identify the business name in their outgoing calls (connected calls) as well as on their call back voice message system when they are telemarketing.  It seems by their behaviors that calls from 202-866-7280 are from someone up to no good.

received a call from this number at my business today.  was pretty confident it was not a legit call, i did not answer.

Saw the number as a missed call on my cellphone and did not call back.

Called with name as "None" on the caller ID.  Left no message.

My call ID showed "LEAD" as the caller.  It was a female robot that talked through me rather lengthy answering machine message so I could not hear what she had to say.  She ended with "press 1 now" and when I didn't it hung up
