Received a call to our land line from this number today (9 Oct 2018) at 11:18 am (Central Time.) Caller ID: CR PAC. I answered. A woman's voice came on and asked for my husband by his first name. I replied that he was not  home and asked if I could take a message. The call immediately disconnected . . . not even a "thank you." It is a political action committee, but so far, I cannot find out what the "CR" stands for and what the focus of the PAC is. Because of that and because there wasn't even a "thank you" programmed into the automated response, I have blocked the number from calling again.

I received the exact same call. The voice was female and asked for me by first name. In my opinion, the voice sounded as if it was recorded. As soon as I responded the phone simply went to dead silence so I hung up after 30 seconds of waiting.

By "Spoofing" a call the caller can make the caller ID say anything they want so "CR PAC" could actually be ANYTHING. I think there needs to be an investigation into where these calls are coming from. Using the unidentified caller technique is cheap torment for groups that may counter whatever you are (or have been) involved with in the past....It is worth noting that they amount of calls I used to receive during the Obama administration was literally 5 times what I receive now.
