Same thing happened to me!  I got the same call and I ended up conferencing in my attorney with these guys.  They ended up hanging up when they heard my lawyer and I on the same line!!   THIS IS A SCAM TO STEAL YOUR MONEY BEWARE!!!  First off the IRS NEVER CALLS YOU DIRECTLY!!!  The IRS only communicates with you via snail mail.  IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THESE CROOKS HANG UP AND IGNORE THEM!!!

A guy with an accent - sounds like he's from India - saying he's from IRS telling me to call him back regarding a legal lawsuit for tax evasion and tax fraud.  If I don't call back, I will get arrested!!  IRS don't call you - they send a letter!  Beware!!!

Received a similar call.  Foreign accent  left a long winded voicemail indicating to call back or the IRS will have me arrested.  He should know IRS would deliver via USPS certified mail.  Total scam.  Don’t bite on the misleading and fraudulent call.

Fear pedlar during tax season. He made the mistake of giving me the name Mr. Richard Rosen, and I also got his cell phone number, a Verizon number, btw.  202-751-2460.  Everytime he calls on his 888 number I text him and tell him to stop contacting me.

Guy does not speak proper English. Has called many times "today is the last day before the government comes to arrest you", has been saying that for several months-sometimes there is a different phone number to call. If we don't fall for it-who does????-hopefully they will stop!

You'll hear nothing from them if you're not allowing messages. Matter of fact you can really get on their nerves if they get no kind of answer from your number. When you're relying heavily on people answering the phone so you can trick them and get nothing at all, it's a bad time to be a scammer.

Don't bet on it if you're taking his calls at all. He's probably convinced he can come up with a threat that'll eventually scare you into paying a bogus debt. Try not answering his calls in any way and hear nothing from him again.

They called 3 times so far today. Turn them into the IRS (see above). Then block them from your phone. It's pretty simple and they will stop.

Same person with Indian accent.  Called himself Officer James Anderson with the IRS. Left 6 messages on our voicemail that we were being pursued for tax evasion and to call back immediately or face a list of penalties including imprisonment.  DON'T fall of this!!

New twist:  I guess this guy's accent tripped him up as a fraud.  Now, he's using a canned American robot voice.  It's so amateurish.  Just hang up and report the number.
