I just got a call from this number he had an old last name so it made me wonder where they were getting the information from.  everytime I would ask a question he would get frustrated and speak to me with a firm tone and tell me I didn't want anybody else obtaining my money with my information so to act on it right away.

They call with the same story about the grant with a middle eastern accent. To call back 202 888-4067.

Receive calls from these people claiming to be with the "US Federal Grants Dept." (very important FYI: THERE IS NO SUCH DEPARTMENT) several times a day from different numbers. The callers give their sales pitch claiming that you have been randomly selected to receive grant money from the federal government and you need to take XYZ steps to claim the funds. I want rehash the whole thing from my perspective because there are plenty of post here saying what these people are wanting.

I just want it to be known that these SCAMMERS, who are lower than the dirt that is under my shoes have no conscience of will and I don't know how they sleep at night knowing that they have taken some innocent persons money that they need to support themselves. They will not stop until someone takes drastic actions to make them stop.

In order to avoid these SCAM callers some measures have to be put in place to protect consumers. Please be conscience of this matter when you are speaking with these people. If they insist on the fact that you are going to receive this money tell them that you have to see them face to face before any money can exchange hands because you want to know who you are dealing with and what paperwork has to be filed so that you know it is legal. Another option is to challenge them by asking for their information, i.e. company name, their full legal name, legitimate company phone number, supervisors name, their supervisors name, and so on and so forth, so that you can verify what they are telling you is true. Another key piece of information that you can ask for also is their Governmental Work ID Number, all government employees in certain organizations have one. If they cannot or will not supply this information or they try to tell you in a way that is hard for you to understand tell them do not contact you anymore and you will be giving their information to the proper authorities for legal action.

Lastly, this is another very important piece of FYI information. These SCAMMERS are "Spoofing" phone numbers to contact you from. Sometimes these are random numbers that are setup through a calling services such as Google Voice and when you call the number back you get the voice prompt that says "the number you have reached is disconnected or out of service". But, not all are random numbers that are "FAKE" as I discovered. They are real phone numbers from real unsuspecting people and/or companies that do not know their numbers are being used for such scams. Please be mindful of this if calling the number back to see who called. Just warn the person who answers that their number is being used by these SCAMMERS just in case they get other calls and do not talk crazy or be mean to the person because they are just as innocent as you are. BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE.

I had the same thing happened to me but they wanted me to buy $250 of iTunes gift cards before they send me my money lol

I just received the exact same call (gov. grant money in the amount of $9,800.00) from 1-598-356-4756 and I was told to call 202-888-4067 to claim the money....I could tell it was a scam.

Just recieved a cal about 9800.00 grant money and wanted me to pay 250.00 to get the money i am going down to western union and see what hapens as i am to stay on the phone with him till the money is in my pocket i will shut them down i will cal washington dc police department anf file a complaint
