- JohnGot a couple of calls from this number stating it was the U S Treasury and they had a warrant for my arrest, advising me to contact my attorney and have them call the number they were calling from.... They gave a case number also.... It was a recording..... After the second call from them, I called the number and some guy answered saying he was with the U S Treasury... He wanted my case number... I told him that he was a scam, and I was tired of them bugging me and that I was hanging up and calling the FBI.... He suggested that I do just that.... So I hung up on him.... I did not call the FBI, I figured that's just what these people want the public to do... To keep our law enforcement tied up with stuff like this...
- Caller: U S Treasury
- SusanGot a recorded message from some type of trooper saying that she had a warrant out for my arrest (never said who it was for) and that I should have my attorney call them back with a case number. They left a callback number which I didn't take down.
- Caller: Don't know
- LBBhad a message - computer generated voice... warrant - call back with attorney - blah blah... yeah right... this is the 3rd call I had received... all from different numbers... what do they want? this is a bunch of garbage!
- GLM09/19/2016 Same thing - they have an arrest warrant for me and to call them back with the case number and to verify with SSN. Did not even pick up as their was no caller ID 0nly a DC number. Ignore these scammers, people - they only want your information to either file a false tax return or to use your ID for other purposes.
- Caller: UNKOWN
- MarinaSame thing happened to me. Infact this is the second time they've been harassing me. Praying nobody falls for their scam.

- Caller: Dept. Of Treasury
- Alfalfa replies to WendyThere are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals. Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.
If they claim to be from Treasury, report it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description. If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.
If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:
