Just received a call from which is So. Alabama.  All the CID showed was Unknown name I don't answer if I don't know the number.

Unrecognized number. Blocked for the future.

Caller ID stated Birmingham AL.  I don't answer if I don't know the number.  Blocked.

Fake "police organization" scamming for money.  I hung-up on them.

man said was calling from alabama state trooper agency,  or so he said. I hung up before he said any more.

I live in California, Why would I want to send money to Alabama to take care of their state troopers..Jeez.

If it were indeed a call from a the Trooper Fund. the callers keep 70% of all proceeds and the Troopers get the remaining 30%.
If you want to donate to the Troopers' Fund, stop a Trooper and write out your tax deductible check to them and he will make sure they get 100% of your donation. (Alabama State Trooper Association)
The FOP sometimes use the same type fund raisers and I was a member until I retired but I do not approve of these type fund raisers.
