Received a call from 205-588-8589. Phone rang three times then quit. This company Portfolio Recovery has a habit of attempting to collect debts from anyone they can, even if its a debt that was not created by you. They're scum-bag bottom feeders.Find out from your phone company how to block their unwanted calls.

Constant calls from not only 205-588-8589 but also 407-347-4021. Both are Portfolio Recovery. Every call is for a different person from a different number. I'm collecting the number now to file a complaint. I've tried telling them there is no one here by that name but they just call the next day (sometimes the same day) with a different name so that doesn't work. They don't have any idea who they are even calling. How is that productive for anyone? The poor companies who hire  Portfolio Recovery probably are funding this harassment. Otherwise they'd be out of business.  They can't be collecting anything with this idiotic business model -- 'call anyone and maybe they'll pay me.' It's almost like stalking.

They did leave a voice ID but no message...

Called home line, but, since I'm traveling, redirected to cell.  I was on another call.  It left no message.

Got 2 hang up calls from them this past Sunday.  Caller ID said "Private Name".  I suspected it was Portfolio Recovery as they have been calling me for over a month from different numbers from all over the U.S.

I've gotten calls from as many as 5 different collection agencies about 2 years ago, all looking for someone else.  Most of these companies left recorded messages; some were from a live person.  I never picked up to argue with them, but they did call a few times a day for 7 months.  EVERYDAY.  I turned the ringer off at one point.

IF YOU ARE RECEIVING HARASSING CALLS FROM ANYONE, PLEASE REPORT THEM ON THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION WEBSITE FTCCOMPLAINTASSISTANT.GOV TAKES 2 MINS, EVERY TIME THEY CALL. MAYBE IF WE ALL DID THIS THE FTC WILL SHUT THEM DOWN.
