Spam Robo Call - Telemarketer - Caller ID Said Birmingham, AL

Marketing call. said "independent homes" walk-in bath company.

205-718-8197 calls, shows UNKNOWN NAME, but doesn't reply to my Hello. It must be a handicapped deaf, dumb and mute person that doesn't hear me say Hello and cannot ask if I answered the phone and doesn't know their own name.
A lot of calls that show Caller ID do list ID as UNKNOWN NAME, PRIVATE CALLER, NO NAME or INVALID CALLER and probably some other monikers. SPAM callers usually mimic someone's Caller ID so you never really know if that Caller ID is true or just phony until you answer the call.
The only time I REALLY know I am being 'spoofed' is when my Caller ID shows me calling myself. This is when I am pretty sure the call is a felonious phone call; but then sometimes I do enjoy talking to myself. Don't you?
Phone companies are complicit in these phony phone calls and should be held accountable for inaccurate Caller ID. Phone companies could adjust their systems that would only allow true Caller ID to be shown but then they would have to get rid of all the lobbyists working Washington to give phone companies benefits and not the people paying the phone bills.
It should never be allowed in any situation for anyone to OPT OUT of true Caller ID being shown and phone companies should 'trace' all phone calls to eliminate false Caller ID.
By allowing false Caller ID's to be shown phone companies should bare the brunt of any and all scams/spams/spoof/and detrimental costs to customers and hoaxes perpetuated by criminal callers.

Unrecognized number.  Blocked for the future.  Scumbags and thieves.

Today that # had "voice mail" as it's identifier. ha

The called today said he was selling vitamins...……..

Caller listed as Voice but caller asked about "walk in tubs"  Why can they get a round the Do Not Call" law....

Since when do criminals ever care about laws?  Being on the list does not prevent anyone who dials your number from causing it to ring. For it to work, the caller has to be registered with them, pay for the list and then use ti to screen numbers before calling.  All the law does is provide a means for you to personally sue them or for the government to sue them if they willingly violate it as this caller does.

This evening at 4:11 pm on 12/20/18 I just received a call from 205-718-8197 on my home landline. The Caller ID only showed the number and no name. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message because I don't have voice mail. From reading previous comments this is a robocall. Possibly scam call. I am going to block number.

I too got a call from VOICE MAIL on 16 October at16:22...amazing isn't it...voice mail calling me.

On my caller ID. Said voice mail. Answering machine picked up. All I heard was "Hello?" Hello?" and then hung up.
