I received a call from this number. Claiming that John Toscano from the IRS was calling me about an arrest warrant was issued by the IRS. Contacted the IRS  it is a scam.

Got a similar call about an IRS scam saying if I didn't pay in 10 min they would start legal proceedings

Officer John Tosca (etc as with other messages urging me to call back).  Thanks to others here for their reports.

Got a voice mail message from 206-207-0310.  Computer synthesized voice telling me that "an arrest warrant has been issued in Your Name."  Call back immediately, etc, etc.  Oh how urgent that robotic voice sounded.  Of course it's BS.  If I had an untraceable number and lots of free time, I'd robo-call them back.

John Koskinen is Commissioner of the IRS.

Called this AM (April 6, 2016) said he was IRS agent and I needed to call back as soon as I got the message. I have not called back. And I will not call back. Why can't the IRS or the FBI shut these people down once they know about this phone scam?

I received the same message on my answering machine as several others: the male obviously robot voice saying "Department of Internal Revenue Service.  Your case number is #######." My "case number" was identical to the one others have reported and I understood the "officer" to say his name was John Paul Smith.

Sounded like a recoreded IRS scam; claimed he was an officer; threatened to arrest me. I listened and hung up; did not call back! What a dummy.

I received a call from this number but did not answer it. Thanks for the information on this site that warned me about this scam.

same messages as below - don't know how my number got on these lists but I get calls from all different numbers but they all say the same thing...

"This message. You need to call us back on our department number 206-207-0310. I repeat it's 206-207-0310. As of as a matter of urgency. I'm looking forward to speak to you. Thank you. Goodbye."
started out giving a case number, saying he was officer ___ , that it was an urgent matter, and to call 206-207-0310. The male recorded voice said he was "looking forward to talking with us".

No, they can't be arrested.  At least not by US.  Callers are located in India and Pakistan.  Local governments do little, if anything to shut them down.  Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do NOT recognize.

It is, but they are basicaly hard core Indian or Pakistani scammer/extortionists and ignore all US law.  See my previous entry.

Scam what a joke

Yep, same call and message. Thanks everyone for posting.  I've put my # on the Do Not Call Registry three times now. Obviously not working, we still get calls like this daily.

...does stop calls from legitimate, law-abiding businesses.  Which means those who are calling you are criminals and scofflaws - and not known for obeying the law.  If they're calling your cell phone, there are several free call blockers you can get.  If they're calling your land line, look at getting a call blocker to zap them - you can get a decent one for around $40.

"I've put my # on the Do Not Call Registry three times now"  Which is totally unnecessary because once your number is on it it stays on until you remove it.  This is clearly mentioned on the sign up page.  So what happens is that each time you remove your number and sign back up you open up the 31 day window for legitimate companies to call you.

Received notification to verify my phone number for my Google account. Then, I received a text message with a Google verification code from this number: 1 (206) 207-0310. I believe this is a scam.
