It’s the return of the Social Security Number scammers.  An unidentified caller from the location “Bainbridge Island, WA” left  a cut-off message threatening that my social security number could be suspended if I don’t call them.  Oh noes!  A suspended SSN!  Such nonsense . . . They tried to make it more official-sounding by mentioning a “magistrate judge.”  No mention of why a company on the West Coast would be warning someone living on the East Coast about an appearance in front of a local magistrate.

Left message. “Send an intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before the magistrate judge and will lead to your Social Security number suspension your case _⁠_ is CP92682 for more information on your case please call our investigation department immediately on 206-312-6721 I repeat 206-312-6721 we would be glad to share your case information and help you with the situation thank you…”

Wait a second....that's my case number!

I received a message on my cell number.  They referenced a case against me and urged me to call to avoid a magistrate judge getting involved.  I did not return the call.

I just got the same message by phone. I tired to call them back but seems phone is always busy. I went
to my SSi login account and nothing their in my inbox. I would bet it is a scammer and they seem to be very
good at this.

Well, here it is, mid 2020... and they’re still playing this game.
I receive this call weekly. What gave it away to me immediately, is them asking me to give them my name, phone number, DOB, and address.... which SS already has!
I’ve tried blocking, but they just use a different number. I can’t just up and change my phone number, because I’ve already printed all my business paraphernalia.
The only weird thing is that most people think my nick-name is my actual legal name (on BC) yet these folks have all this info on me. How?
