- Seattle WACalled my land line. Caller ID said "RICHMNDBCH WA". I didn't pick up.
Have gotten other calls from "RICHMNDBCH WA", from different numbers, which other 800Notes users say is a "local radio station wanting to give away money".
Just another scam. BLOCKED.- Caller: "RICHMNDBCH WA"
- Ron M"WARM 106.9" (Seattle station) wants to pay me for listening to the radio. Nonsense. Blocked.
- Seattle WA 2Received a call claiming to be Allstate Insurance, they had this "great offer for only $2.99" and that they need my credit card over the phone. I said no twice and then they were saying "Feel free to call us at 866-" and they hung up midway through
- Caller: Claimed to be Allstate Insurance
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Seattle-GNo message, but if I do not recognize the number I don't answer. Seems to be consistant with what others say about scams. I blocked the number from calling again.

- Mike 0| 4 repliesCalled, no message which is unheard of with an actual insurance company calling. These guys spoofed Allstate and I've been a customer since 2005, this pisses me off no end because normally I'd answer it solely because it's Allstate. Blocked and I'm emailing Allstate because this is a CRIMINAL action, not merely corporate business as usual...
- Caller: Allstate
- TheRealSeriously® replies to Mike 0| 3 repliesDid you stop for one minute and think 'gee, maybe the number got spoofed?' From your post I'd say no. Just because the caller ID SAYS something doesn't mean it's true
- Mike 0 replies to TheRealSeriously®| 1 replyI'm guessing you didn't READ my post where I said it was SPOOFED because I =AM= an Allstate customer with several policies who actually checked on this with my agent and yes, I would normally answer ALL calls from my several insurance companies. I don't THINK anything about people calling me, I used to assume - like hundreds of posters here - that Caller ID (being a service we pay for) would accurately reflect the IDENTIFICATION OF THE CALLER. What on Earth makes YOU think all Caller IDs are spoofed? Paranoia? Schizophrenia? A lot of folks rely on CID to determine when they DO pick up the phone - if you're so paranoid you think ALL calls are spoofed, why would you ever own a phone?

- TheRealSeriously® replies to Mike 0Gee, because there are so many people that come here and say something when a simple look up proves them wrong. I'll admit I missed that part, but we do have a lot of posters that seem to take what's on the Caller ID was truth. All I'm saying is what is legit for one person may not be for the next as legit numbers DO GET SPOOFED. Sorry simple logic is too hard for you
- RGCaller ID read "Shoreline, WA" and caller claimed to be an agent with Allstate insurance (we are customers). Sounded official enough, even though they called my phone number asking for my husband, right up until they asked for our credit card info (which we don't use to pay for our insurance). Hung up and blocked the contact.
- Call type: Scam suspicion
