Selling a car on craigslist received the EXACT email from "Amanda", same address, same email same request to send money via western union to her private shipper as she is offshore.  Can't someone find this dog and stop her?

She almost had me if I hadn't goggled her cause she never would call or give me a number to call her she just insisted on my paypal info to send me money to buy a horse for $6500 and didn't wanna talk on the phone or anything seemed strange and I found this I'm glad I did

same exact message sent to me!!!  she or he what ever it is got some choice words from me!!

So whats the scam? She said she would put money in my account and send some one to come pick it up.  I have no clue how to use pay pal so I sent her my email address right before I found this blog. Will I be screwed by only sending her my e-mail address??

This website helps shut down as scammer. I sent this thread to amanda and that made her move on to the next victim.

What do you mean?. I am an honorable woman and do not appreciate the tone of  your text. However, I am presently offshore hence my choices are limited. Paypal allows you to send and receive money without given out your personal information, hence the reason why i opted to pay with paypal.

So I dug a little deeper.  Went along with her/him which could be stupid, I know.  My curiousity will someday hurt me.  Anyways, she says she needs me to help her send $1350 Western Union to somewhere Georgia. I said "put the money in my account and I'll send it."  Then, I get an e-mail from "Pay-Pal" saying how my account has been creditied with the money.    It looked pretty legit until I logged in and my account balance remained zero. Then I get another e-mail saying the funds are on hold until I send the money western union and said NOT to call pay pal, NOT to try to contact them except by replying to "this e-mail". Also, saying phone lines were being monitored by FBI and some scammer would pick up on my call if I called pay pal.   So, I started to read it line for line and the grammatical errors are so obvious that its a FAKE pay-pal e-mail. Also how it was saying NOT TO CONTACT Pay Pal at all.   I just fear there are people dumber than me who would actually send her money. Bottom line, if you get sucked in deep enough, you will get e-mails which LOOK like they are from Pay Pal but they are not!!!

Scammer Kelly Benson is still at it. When ever you get these gmail.com requests just tell them you will conduct the transaction only in cash.............you never hear from them again.

I am trying to sell a car on Craigslist, got the exact same messages as others above...word for word. The grammar was so horrible i knew something was up so I did this Google search and found others were contacted by this scammer as well. Glad I investigated and even more happy that you kind folks shared your history with this scammer........

I am in the process of playing along with 'Amanda' right now .... for a bit of fun. I've had her going for almost three days now ... acting gullable and stalling with one excuse after another. "Amanda" is quite stupid .... enough to think that I am stupid enough to give money to 'her'. However, I do admit to being silly enough to enjoy the game I am playing with "her".

If she attempts to scam you, send the email thread to PayPal, who are happy to take it on. Enjoy!

Got a similar email not even 20 minutes of posting my car for sale. She even demanded that I remove my ad to assure her that I was going to sell my car only to her and kept sending me the link for a paypal account. I told her that I refuse to set up a paypal account to let her pay for my car and I wasn't going to use her link that she sent me to sign up for it.

She is still out there trying to scam people. Posted a motorcycle for a deployed buddy of mine. Watch out for this trick.
