wanted to sell me a Home Security system

Called my home AND cell phone, didn't leave a mssg.

Called and left no message

Robocall recording opens up with feigned concerned over "...recent criminal activity in your area..." which is ironic, given that the call itself is criminal activity.

Claimed to be "GE Security"

The recording offered to let me press 2 to be removed from their list, but I wasn't about to prove that I was gullible enough to be added to the "Gullible enough to listen to calls" list.

Hi, called home #, left no VM.  Did not answer and caller ID identified only number called from.  Sure is yet another SCAM!  :-(  Have a Blessed rest of weekend and super week next week!

Called this afternoon by 206-445-6381. Caller ID said Home Sec.  Did not answer and they left no message. We will block.

Security Company.  I work in the industry and here is what it is about.

The call to say (High Crime in the Area) and they are authorized to provide (5) (free secuirty equipment) with a small monthly fee  in the area as long as you let them put a sign in your yard.  

1st: this means everyone in your area can get one........  That's it.....  Most companies charge $30.00 to $50.00 a month for monitoring....

Its not a scam most of the time.... They just charge a lot for the monitoring...

Equipment cost from a distributor for this type of system (depending if which system they are giving).  $100.00 basic hardwire system to $350.00 basic wireless system (with a touch screen) with cellular communication.

Our company charges that much for the equipment and then $150.00 to install and then Monitoring is $10.00 per month...

Here's why you are wrong - THE CALL ITSELF IS ILLEGAL!

Any call that is illegal is a scam or the business is conducting itself in an illegal manner.
That means you should never do business with them, under any circumstances.

GE Home security, wanting install an "On Star" system with a solar-powered sign in my yard (which would be the first thing they steal...) I doubt that they even know where "my area" is...

Any company who places cold calls to my home at 8:47PM...will 'never' obtain my business, reference or good word of mouth!
Is the fact that this 'simple' irritant is a clear repellant to potential buyers beyond the reaches of intelligence for their Public Relations Dept? I imagine a group of Amoeba in little suits making the decisions for these companies, which is why they will continue to fail. Praise the fact that for now, I am still able to decide not to answer a ringing phone.

Who cares? You are doing the same as these callers. Telling us information without inquiry or solicitation. Now you are Spam!

I am on Do Not Call for all phones, so anything this garbage would have tried to sell me would have been a scam.
However no one spoke when I answered the phone but I did say do not call again as I hung up so that I can truthfully answer  "Yes" when asked if I had told them not to call me again when I file this complaint.

Why would I buy from a home security company when they are UNETHICAL & break the law calling me?

General Electric is a big enough company, who would unquestionably be fully knowledgeable that they are violating FEDERAL and STATE LAWS and ethical laws making cold solicitation calls.  They should be made an example and prosecuted to the full extant of the Federal and State Laws.  And we don't have to buy their products anymore either.

They take a measured risk, knowing that there is a 99% chance that the DO NOT CALL law will not be enforced.

Just got a call from this #.....Caller ID "Home Security"........Did not answer the phone, let answering machine pick up, caller left no message......I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST and I still get these ridiculous phone calls not only from this number but others.

Left recorded msg, From "GE Home Security", giving away free system to 30 homes, ETC....
