The telephone rang one time and stopped.

Same thing. Rang and stopped.

They called again... at a late hour.... and again no message.

This is annoying and why don't they leave a message - suspicious!

I have received numerous calls from this number, but no message and no person on the other end when I do pick up.

This is the second time they have called this week and haven't left a message. Guessing a telemarketer using a landline number.

This is a telemarketer. Unfortunately, many cellular companies are leaking phone numbers. Most companies know that can get in big trouble calling you in an unsolicited fashion on a line you pay usage for. So what they do is call you, let it ring once, then hang up. That way, it does not reflect on your bill as a charge to your usage, but it entices you to call them!

When you call these numbers back, they usually give you the opportunity to hear what they have to say, or elect to have NO FURTHER CALLS.

Beware, their message may sound good: they will say something like "we have a special prize for you". Just another salesman who is just a little more sneaky than the snake oil salesmen from a hundred years ago...Sadly, I fear to many elderly folks will get suckered by this type of stuff, so watch out for your parents and Grandparents!

Call the number back and there is a recording that gives you the option of "pressing 1" to be on their "do not call" list.

April 10, 2010  4:25 p.m.  Called and hung up.  I called them back and pressed #1 to be on their "do not call list"

Just got a call from this #, looked it up while the phone was ringing, called it back and hit 1 to be placed on their DNC list.  When calling back, there was no identification of the company.

Over the past 4-5 months, I have received NUMEROUS calls from this telemarketer's phone number at all times of the day & night.  They are a HUGE nuissance!

Report to your landline and/or cell phone annoyance bureau.  If a cell phone call, forward to SPAM (7 7 2 6). Report to www.donotcall.gov and if necessary the attorney general offices of your home state and/or state of Washington.
