Got a call from this number just now.  He confirmed my address and asked for my age.  I don't know what kind of scam it is but he didn't ask for money or any other information.  Told me i was entered to win some money at some time in the future (May 30).  Anyone know what kind of scam this is?  Maybe he is going to send me something in the mail and this was just a prep call?

I got the same type of call and it freaked me out! I think this is some type of scam!!! Im reporting this to the cops as well. I do have a question for you? Did you receive that call on you land line or cell phone? If it was your cell phone, do you use T-moblie as your cellphone provider. . .

Same thing happened to me! They knew my address, told me I was entered to win prizes in a May 30th drawing because I am a Visa, American Express, or Discover cardholder. They asked for my age and asked me to verify that I was a cardholder, but not which card. Then proceeded to try and sell me a bunch of magazine subscriptions for "being part of the promotion today". I declined any magazines and the woman was very nice, didn't push or harass, but is unfortunately sending me info on the "services" in the mail. I gave them no information besides my age and my occupation, but you can find that on the Internet. What scares me is that they had my cell number (AT & T) and my mailing address. Anyone know anything!?

yeah i get them all the time.. they say they are from a readers group (6 years ago i had subscribed to reader's digest).. def a scam..

they will try to force magazines on you.. and they keep sending magazines i never ever ordered! and then calling and demanding payment!.. saying they will mess up my credit etc etc..

i have my credit monitored though and since these guys are obviously a scam they aren't legite enough to be able to report anything anyway.. i continue to call the magazines directly (better homes and gardens, people, rolling stone) and discontinue the subscription... sometimes they let me discontinue thru the megazine, sometimes they don't because this 'group' put me on a free trial!!

guess what people, you don't pay for a free trial!! ugh... plus they then make up all the stupid rules saying that i've missed my opportunity to cancel my free trial and now will be charged $100-200 etc etc for the magazines that I will receive!!!!  RIDICULOUS!!!! i marked the # in my phone as DO NOT ANSWER but they keep useing new numbers and new numbers and more new numbers!!!
