Fake irs call originating in india

I have received so many calls from this "scammers" number, as have others, and wonder why the FCC cannot have the telephone companies block this and all obvious ROBO Nos. Thank God for Caller ID and an audio answering machine. I'd like to answer the phone and say..."You have reached a Police Intercept line" and see what happens but would never ever answer the phone as one can be "hooked up to the world" once you open your circuit then they can use your phone No to run up your long distance phone bill "out of sight Also this is most likely a recording and when you call back you are locked in! NOT ME!!

The caller said they were from the IRS and they were suing me.

Same - IRS suing me. ha ha

They called three times today!! Same thing: robot recording, claiming to be the IRS, calling with final notice regarding the lawsuit they have against us!! And asking to urgently call back! And I wonder, just like others here... how come these numbers cannot be tracked, and the scammers punished? The IRS has links on their website, where you can report if you've been scammed, but only if you actually lost money, or gave out personal information... I wish they would allow us to report just the ph. no. that appear on the caller ID, (some people know not to respond to these calls, but try to prevent others from being scammed...)

Same. They left a message claiming to be the IRS and said that I was being sued. Wanted to block their number but they are not showing up on the call log on my cell phone. The message was left on visual voicemail on the cell.
