This company calls saying they need your information to determine if you are eligible for student loan forgiveness.  They have asked me for my social security number and student loan account numbers.  They will not allow me to talk to a supervisor or give me an address for their company.  When I ask to be put on a "do not call list" they argue that they need more information from me before they can do that.  When I threatened to report them to the BBB they hang up!

They tend to either hang up or get nasty when you don't play their game. I dealt with calls of a similar nature. In my case the were calls for those I never heard of. I eventually realized these operations were calling an outdated numbers and assumed their info was correct. It seems that they assumed I was making excuses and continued calling. The only time I had success of any kind was when it was the collection department of a legitimate bank. But that was a rarity.
