Received a message on my phone this morning about calling about an account
I don't do any business with this bank but I was intrigued
I called back the number and it sounded like an Indian call center
I figure they spoofed the number got off the line ASAP and blocked it

Recorded message. Very aggressive and threatening. Stated it was the "Internal Revenue Service" and that this was my "final notice" of impending legal action.  That I must call back to this number immediately.  Caller ID registered as Seafirst Bank.  I called the number back and it was answered by a foreign man, with a deep middle-eastern/Indian accent as "Internal Revenue Service".

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.   Block and ignore.   DO NOT RETURN THE CALL!

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

I received a call from this number saying this was the IRS,  The man had a Indian voice and I hung up!  Another scam.  If it were the IRS then I would have a notice by mail.

Didn't recognize the number so let it rolled over to VM. Most of the message cut off, only the call back number recorded. Based upon comments above, glad I didn't answer.

Truncated recorded message about some sort of "lawsuit against me." Riiiiiight. SeaFirst Bank hasn't done business under that name since 2000. Now part of B of A.

The number does appear to belong to a legitimate business, a locksmith. Poor fellow.

I received a call with a recorded message that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call 206-701-6642.THe message sounded like they inserted IRS into the message, and that part was a foreign accent.I think they use the same message and insert different creditor names, so that was another red flag, plus I know the IRS doesn't call people,

This number left a message on my phone saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit.  It was a woman.  She said it was an official call from the IRS.

2 calls from this number today. Left message IRS scam message. Dirtbags...

Received this call twice today, left message both times, a computerized female voice.   Caller ID shows Seafirst Bank, Seattle.   It says it's my last notice and that the IRS was suing me.   How do these people get away with this.  I guess some people fall for their scam.

i recived a phone call from a phone # saying i owed the irs said it was from the irs n that i owed money.

Got call twice today. called got fax noise. So I hope no one is sending them information by fax.

This call left a message:"This is your final notice. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you." I returned call, like a fool. Person with Asian or Indian-sounding English said, "This is the IRS in Washington, DC." "I don't believe you, I said. "What can I do to prove it to you?" he asked. "Mail me a letter," I said. I hung up, realizing it was a scam seeking my SS number. Does returning this call give this scam any of my private ingo?

After reading these posts yesterday, I got another call today.  I decided to call back, foreign dude answers, "Hello."  I said (aggressively), "I don't know, you called me."  I was ready to rip into this idiot... no response. call showing Sea First Bank saying this was my final notice that the IRS was filing lawsuit against me.  SCAM !!!!

Received pho call from 206-701-6642 a few moments ago, suspect a "robo-call" -- caller ID reports "Seafirst Bank" -- with the # -- a Seattle-area bank that went belly-up in the 80's just before US Government seizure.  Anyway, the recorded female voice states she is from the IRS and "a lawsuit is being filed against you" -- and instructs to call back.  Deleted the message, and blocked all further calls from this number -- an obvious scam.
