I was called and informed the government is given me a grant for 9000...but i have to give them a 100% refundable 250.00...is it a scam?

I would like you to do a web search on 'Advance fee scam'. Use any search engine you wish. Then come back. If you'd like me to save you time - yes it's a scam. It's a VERY simple advance fee scam. You are asked to send $250., usually by a CASH wire service, or provide credit card/banking information. Next, you LOSE the $250. and get nothing. A very, very, very old scam. In the old days these scams were done with letters (snail mail) mailed from Africa. Usually some Nigerian Prince/King/Despot who needed your help moving money out of the country. An oldie!

It is a scam.
The government does not offer grants to individuals for personal use.
It is a scam ran by off shore con artists to trick you into sending unrecoverable money to them, you get nothing in return.

The only legitimate avenue for government grants is through www.grants.gov which is the official US government webs site for grants.

Please note the following:

No government grant-making agency will make phone calls; send email or letters to solicit money or personal banking information from a potential grant recipient.  
There are no processing fees for federal grants.
Federal grants are not issued for personal use, but are intended for institutions and non-profits to carry out projects with a public purpose.
Know who you're dealing with on the web.  Scam artists will often post a website with a name similar to a legitimate site.
If you have provided personal banking information to anyone claiming to be associated with a Federal grant agency, call your bank immediately to prevent unauthorized access to your account.

If you receive a call, mail, email, FAX, or any other form of communication soliciting you for a grant, STOP.
It is a scam.

I received call from 089 and was informed to call 206-801-1924 to get more detail on my grant. They then informed me that I needed to send in $190.00 before getting grant. I asked to speak to the ladies supervisor and she hung up on me.

I got this number back and informed they that this was a scam and they have been reported.

I called this number and called the guy out on his scam. He told me he'd send me $1000 to keep my mouth shut and not report this. These people are crazy!

I've been receiving calls from 067 every day for 3 months telling me I've been selected by US Government to receive 9000$ loan.

I got a call from 000 telling me that I was selected to receive a $9000 Government loan too. The call came from 000 and the lady (which I could barely understand due to road noise and another guy talking loudly in the background) told me to call 206-801-1924 and provide them with some approval code. I asked if their was a website that I could look at and she said no. I called her out on the scam and she basically hung up on me.

Caller don't even speak English saying the Goverment has 9.000 for me and to call this number206-801-1924 nope I am not calling back and wish they wouldn't  call me back I mind mine own business and work for anything I want so they should do the same sometime it's a lady and sometime it's a man today I listen to everything what was said and the urgent for me to call back sorry no no no call back my caller ID say #1005 what is going on

I just got a call from a 032 number they told me I had grant money of 9000 I called the number and they told me to send 250 by via green dot soon as she said that I hung up on her....ITS A SCAM!!!!!!!
