i just got a message from a girl on fb telling me to text this number, did you get the same?

I just recive a friend req on fb from same girl,  Ashley Murach.

I just got the exact same thing except her name was Jessica Levering

I got a FB from a girl names Ashley Clairday  asking me to text and she gave me this #...TF?!

The account that is sending these messages is a fake account set up to send these messages in hopes that you will respond to them via text message. If you do, you will be sent a link to a pornographic site, according to a poster here who did text the number.

If you get a message with this number:

1) Unfriend the person sending the message.
2) Report the account to Facebook as either fake, spam, or scam.

In order to protect your information, as there is potential for identity theft as well:

1) Go to your privacy settings at the top of the page in the left hand corner.
2) Hide the following:
Your phone number
Your email address
Your date of birth (you can hide only year if you'd prefer)
3) Hide your friend list.

In the case of phone number, email, and DOB, there is no real reason this needs to be on Facebook. Anybody close enough to call or email you probably already has this information stored in their phone or email contact list. They probably know your birthday as well.

As for your friend list, I believe this is how this number is finding new contacts. Hiding your friends list will prevent the people you know from falling victim.

Got a friend request from someone named Jennifer Demmer, had some mutual friends (obviously they are trying to add people from the same areas to make it look like u know them) accepted purley to see if it was someone i recognised... Got an inbox almost immediatly saying

'thanks for the add, what do u do for fun? urgh gota log off now but txt me sometime'

They left a different number to the one above but after googling it i found it was some random state in america.

After replyin telling  them to jog on i got this reply..

'Liked ur photo, so I added you.
R u a glass half full or empty kind of guy?
ugh I need to log off right now
Text me today 206-801-5266'

So i replied with this....

'mate really???? couldnt be more fake..... adding only men.. trying to get me to txt an american number.. which by tha way is different from the one yesterday morning u fool.. amazes me that people actually fall for this [***]...... when really ur a fat hairy 50 year old jus tryin to scam people! joker'

No reply since!!! Lol.....

Sorry for the essay.. just wanted to share what happend in the hope that people dont fall for it!! think people should use their common sense with this one..... way too obvious!!! I will be reporting them!!

Just out of curiosity where r u all from? Im in the UK..... just wondered how far afield they are going with this??

got a message from a chick then she kept writing I didn't say a word and she was like I have to log out text me at some 206 number so what I did was type on google 206 area code and it brought my attention to this site
