Initially it was a robocall, stating I owe the IRS, They never stated who the call was for. When I called, They stated they were calling from the IRS and asked if I  had a tax attorney because the IRS had filed a lawsuit against me.

Same thing. Block the call.

These [***] don't realize that some or most of us already know, the IRS does not call you. They will mail any and all correspondence. Wow!!

Most definitely a scam! This dumbass Indian guy couldn't even pronounce my first name right. Then he tried to read some BS avidavit and stumbled through a couple lines before I just started laughing, told him he's full of [***] and hung up.

Same thing.  A recorded message told me don't dare not return this call,  and the IRS is taking me to court!

It sure is a scam , what are they trying to get out of it. It's not the 80's!

I got the same call, stating his name is Richard Johnson. I asked him for a address to mail payment, he couldn't provide one. He stated he's located in Washington, 111 Constitution Ave :( so sad.

We know that IRS never call but still some people are paying money..!!

Same thing here. A claim had been filed against my name and my social. I had to call within 24 hours or it was on me. I should talk to my attorney

I have ignored the phone calls, now action is being taken against me.  It is concerning.

Since "action was taken against" you, there should be no problem telling us which court is handling the case as well as the plaintiff's company (IRS.?)  and physical  address  --all public information on the paperwork you received.

What sort of action?  By what agency or individual?  How did you learn about the action.

Anyone can say anything in an email.  All communication from the IRS has to be sent by US mail.  Anything that came as an email can be ignored.

"Unpleasant" cannot respond because she was already sued .... on a weekend .... and then was arrested. Then a piano fell on her foot. All because she ignored those pesky calls from our nation's tax collector, headquartered in the Space Needle.

Well then those people who paid were scammed.  They paid a foreign criminal.

I am reporting them to the FCC and you should, too! This is against the law and these people need to be stopped.

Your callers are Indian and Pakistani hard core scammer/extortionists who don't pay any attention to US laws or your requests.  Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick up on call numbers you do not recognize.  Anyone hit by these IRS scams should consider blocking the following area codes:
206  253  360  425 509  564  also are code  202.  The stupid scammers don't understand the difference between Washington State and Washington DC.   They think that the people they call will think that the Washington State area code calls  come from Washington DC.
