Yep.  All I got was a message saying "This is Tiffany.  Please call me at 206.812.1771."  Too bad this probably isn't a cell phone ... I would love to call it at 6:15am like they did!!!!

Received a call at our place of business asking for one of our employees.  This employee works in the day time and a Tiffany called about 7 pm asking me to take a message for this employee and that it is in her best interest to call her back.  I asked if this was concerning a personal matter and that she was calling a business and she said yes it is a personal matter and again it would be in her (employee) best interest to call her back.  Tiffany was friendly however it irks me that they have to call a place of business to harass people. After googling the number I found this web site and I did take the message for my co-worker however I also warned her it was a collection agency of some type.  Thank you for this site.

    NO WAY IT WAS 7P
    THEIR DOORS CLOSE AT 4P
AND UNTIL THE MANAGER OR OWNER OF THE BUSINESS PLAINLY STATES DO NOT CALL/ OR STATES YOUR FRIEND CANT HAVE ANY CALLS OR MESSAGES IT IS NOT ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO CALL.
AND EVEN IF YOU THEY ARE TOLD NOT TO CALL THIS PERSON AT WORK.
THEY CAN CALL YOUR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES LIKE PAYROLL FOR OTHER REASONS.
COLLECTIONS IS NOT ALWAYS A BAD THING
THE CREDITORS ASK FOR THE AGENCIES HELP
THE HAVE NO TIME TO CALL THE PERSON TO ASK THEM TO PAY THE BILL
EVERY ONE FORGETS TO PAY/ CANT PAY/ NEEDS TIME/ EVERYONE HAS BILLS
THEY ARE MERELY ASKING YOU WHEN YOU CAN PAY/ THEY HELPED ME FIND A WAY TO PAY MY BILL I NEVER THOUGHT OF.
IM GLAD THEY TOLD ME ABOUT THE WAYS I COULD RAISE THE MONEY TO PAY
I PAID OFF MY DEBT IN 3 MTHS. AND NOW IM HAPPTY AS PIE
I KNOW TO JUST BE TRUTHFUL AND WORK WITH THEM

THEY ARE NOT LIKE OTHER AGENCIES BLOW MY PHONE UP OR THREATEN ME.
THEY TOLD ME THEIR PROCESS AND HELPED ME GET MY BILL OVER
    I KNOW I OWED IT SO ...

    Duh is an idiot
um I had to say that whomever "duh" is must either work for this collection agency or really have some morbid sexual affinity to them because they do call after 4 sometimes as late as 8pm. good for you "duh" for paying off your bill but i am being harassed day and night by the lovely Tiffany who is attempting to collect money for an attorney I fired after he didn't show up to a court date, and whom is still trying to charge me. I have explaned to the collector that i need documentation and they are unable to provide me with any.

and that is My 2 cents.

You really think these people work only within their office hours?  They work off of commision which is why they will call whenever they can to get a hold of you.  They have called me as early as 6am and have called as late as 9pm.

    Duh,

as someone who writes software for the collections industry. You are sadly informed as to how/when one may call. If someone receives a call before 7am or after 7pm it may be a violation. There are autodialers, commissioned collection agents who work remotely. In the case of the 206 #, the person calling may have been on the East Coast where 6am is 9am and seems reasonable to call.

    Duh - your stupid
Duh - Thank you for confirming that YOU as a representative of this collection agency are CLEARLY operating in VIOLATION of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  I have continuously been harrassed by this company.  They continued to contact my employer (after verifying my employment with Human Resources/Payroll) after I provided them with my cell phone number and explained that I do not want to be contacted at my place of employment - they called prior to 7am and after 7pm CONSISTENTLY and when I explained to them that I do not currently have an income - they continued to contact me in a harrassing manner.  Luckily - I have been able to document this (the time and dates of their contact) and record their calls in which the harrassing tactics they are using are clear. I have done some research on this company and its 'agents' and have found they have been found to be in violation of FDCPA previously.

Duh - I understand that you are hired by the creditor to perform a valuable and necessary service on their behalf - but YOU and your company have gone far and beyond the limits of the law. As you have been made aware of these violations on several occassions and BLATANTLY continue to operate in the same illegal manner - the obvious next step will be litigation against you and your employer with a suit for far more than the measly amounts you are attempting to 'collect'.

Also Duh- lets be realistic.   Your tactics DO NOT encourage people to make arrangements with you - in your conversations and postings here - it is apparant you are ashamed of what you are doing - otherwise you would not feel the need to defend it anonymously.

YOU are as human as anyone else. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.  Have some humanity and compassion for awhile and see how much better it makes you feel.

FDCPA - also example of OCI violations
The Act prohibits certain types of "abusive and deceptive" conduct when attempting to collect debts, including the following:

Hours for phone contact: contacting consumers by telephone outside of the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time[3]

Failure to cease communication upon request: communicating with consumers in any way (other than litigation) after receiving written notice that said consumer wishes no further communication or refuses to pay the alleged debt, with certain exceptions, including advising that collection efforts are being terminated or that the collector intends to file a lawsuit or pursue other remedies where permitted[4]

Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously: with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.[5]

Communicating with consumers at their place of employment after having been advised that this is unacceptable or prohibited by the employer[6]

Contacting consumer known to be represented by an attorney[7]

Communicating with consumer after request for validation has been made: communicating with the consumer or the pursuing collection efforts by the debt collector after receipt of a consumer's written request for verification of a debt made within the 30 day validation period (or for the name and address of the original creditor on a debt) and before the debt collector mails the consumer the requested verification or original creditor's name and address[8]

Misrepresentation or deceit: misrepresenting the debt or using deception to collect the debt, including a debt collector's misrepresentation that he or she is an attorney or law enforcement officer[9]

Publishing the consumer's name or address on a "bad debt" list[10]

Seeking unjustified amounts, which would include demanding any amounts not permitted under an applicable contract or as provided under applicable law[11]

Threatening arrest or legal action that is either not permitted or not actually contemplated[12]

Abusive or profane language used in the course of communication related to the debt[13]

Communication with third parties: revealing or discussing the nature of debts with third parties (other than the consumer's spouse or attorney)[14]

(Collection agencies are allowed to contact neighbors or co-workers but only to obtain location information;[15]

disreputable agencies often harass debtors with a "block party" or "office party" where they contact multiple neighbors or co-workers telling them they need to reach the debtor on an urgent matter[16].
    )
Contact by embarrassing media, such as communicating with a consumer regarding a debt by post card, or using any language or symbol, other than the debt collector’s address, on any envelope when communicating with a consumer by use of the mails or by telegram, except that a debt collector may use his business name if such name does not indicate that he is in the debt collection business [17][18]

Reporting false information on a consumer's credit report or threatening to do so in the process of collection[19]

    NOT HIRED BY ORIGINAL CREDITOR!

They bought this UNDOCUMENTED debt for a few cents - any money they collect DOES NOT GO TO THE ORIGINAL creditor.  They keep it and RESELL it to another JUNK DEBT BUYER - who then proceeds to harrass you AGAIN

By undocumented - I mean they have NO LEGAL PROOF you owe the debt.

they have nothing but a spreadsheet with OLD out of DATE information - no signatures or contracts that PROVE  anything

They are not just trying to ask when you can pay...Who the hell are you trying to kid? I have had them calling me, and I told them when I could pay...instead of working with me on that, all they kept saying was it was going to hit my credit in a week, and that was that. Some of us have the misfortune of getting paid only once a month...There is nothing I can do about that. If you don't want to wait until I get paid, then you can just keep on waiting longer.

Company is Olympic Collections, very agressive and wanting credit card or check by phone arrangements before they will stop "courtesy call". Can't remember who I spoke with 2 weeks ago but it was like an act of congress to get a statement from them showing who had turned the account over and when. Today received a call from a Lori Brown - doubt it is a real name and all she wanted was payment arrangements, when I advised I thought that making a monthly payment on the 25th of each month was a payment arrangement - nope - we'll just move forward she says. Fine with me - I owe 29 medical providers and can only pay so much

They keep leaving me a recorded message about a Maxine who I think lived in my house many years ago.
But I have owned this house for 4 years and Maxine never had my telephone number.  So they must have looked up my address and could clearly see my name is not Maxine and my last name is not the same as Maxine's last name.

    contact FTC.gov
FTCPA is noted correctly, as above:  Failure to cease communication upon request: communicating with consumers in any way (other than litigation) after receiving written notice that said consumer wishes no further communication or refuses to pay the alleged debt, with certain exceptions, including advising that collection efforts are being terminated or that the collector intends to file a lawsuit or pursue other remedies where permitted[4]

Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously: with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number.

Olympic Collection stands accused of many violations online. Refer to cites: 800notes.com, ripoffreport.com, mrnumber.com, consumercomplaints.com, pissedconsumer.com, &more
