Yes indeed.  Most 16 year olds are brilliant. That usually changes when they get full grown brains and a handful of common sense.

When I told the caller that I knew this was a scam, he started using the F word over and over again. I then put a male on the phone who told him that he knew the caller was a small anatomically boy and that his father used to beat him and that was why he couldn't get a real job. LOL The caller called him the N word and slammed down the phone. Beat them at their own game. If they call back, I am going to tell him that he is going to be charged with threatening rape.

This is a scam. The guy on the other end of the phone had a very heavy accent. He said his name was Peter. I told him that I know that this is a scam and he freaked out and said, "Who told you that?? WHO TOLD YOU THAT??" I also told him that I know he's not from the federal grant service and if he EVER called me again, I would have my aunt and uncle in the FBI find him and shut his scam down faster than he could blink. I then hung up and called the number back just to check and my suspicions were verified: "We're sorry. The number you have dialed is no longer in service." They're using a phone service that allows people to call from whatever phone number they want without actually owning that number. It's a service that a lot of people in telemarketing use in order to boost their sales and make a lot of phone calls without hanging up the phone; you just press a button and it asks you to dial a new number.

Don't fall for this scam. If anything, answer the phone with messages like, "Thank you for calling the Federal Bureau of Investigation threats line. Please stay on the line while we trace your call; a team of armed agents are being dispatched to your area in order to investigate the terrorist threat you are calling in." They will never call your number again.

    Tonya Hodgson English
I received a call from this number and the gentleman on the other end had an accent, and said, "Tonya?" and I said, "yes," and he hung the phone up.  I tried to call the phone number back, and it says, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless the number you dialed has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service..."  I am concerned this is someone who uses information to commit identity theft.

This company called and said I won a $7000 grant from the US government.  They said I never have to pay it back.  The person was not American I couldn't really understand him.  So I was sceptical and ask what the grant was for,  what is the grant supposed to be used for.   They said you can use it on whatever I'd like.  Then I said can you send me some information on this?  Then the person hung up on me.  It's a scam.  If you sound like your half way smart, they'll run scared.  Everyone knows a grant is given for a purpose, school, business, etc.  Not just to do whatever you want.
