No they can't.  Calls originate in India and Pakistan.  They spoof local numbers.  They are outside anyone's reach.  The local governments do nothing.Call blocker might be of some help.  Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd.  Or where there is no caller ID.  There’s  no way to stop the calls from being initiated.

1.  IRS cannot close down the caller's operations because they are located in India and Pakistan.  As such they are beyond anyone's reach.  Local governments do nothing.  Scams been around awhile.

2. So far as I'm aware, no one has sued the operator of this site.  If you have any information like that, post it here.  What do you mean "publishing stuff perhaps of a questionable nature!"?  What are you trying to say?

Got this call on 10/28/2015, said I got sued by IRS. Called them back, only heard loud noise

I received this phone call a few times, but missed the call and it went right to my voicemail. when listening to the messages it was a woman recording telling me it was the IRS and I was being sued for fradulent activity... (I panicked! .. I'm an honest mother of 4.. run a daycare... etc.. I didn't know what i did wrong?! .. Thank goodness I checked this out! Thanks for the investigations, I feel at ease now!!!

I got a voicemail from them saying they were filing claims against me.  I am a minor.  I am 17, but still a minor.  I don't have any association to the IRS. Bogus.

Called pretending to be from IRS about lawsuit two days.

They said they are filing a lawsuit against me. Yeah, right!

Got a recorded message today that the IRS is going to sue me. Ha! I have no issues with the IRS. One would have to be very naïve to return this call.

Beware off this IRS SCAM Google IRS Scam  please report this to the us general to file a complaint  so it. Be on record. This people look for victims to scam there spoofing number useing a VO ip call in Pakistan they rt to scare people into paying money they told me I was going Jail form5 hears and Pay a fine they even put a person on that said he was a senior officer read me charges vs me and told me if i don't pay the police will at my door why are people not calling the cops or banks or mayors office so they warn others about this scam there are a lot people that fall for it I just read about IRS scams on line.  The best thing do not call back they get your off there caller ID when people call back. Scam

IRS does not initiate contacts by phone.  US mail only.   IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes.  IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of  money.  IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone.   IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

An automated voice says it was the IRS. It looks like the bad guys are trying to get around the foreign accent tip-off.

got a call said they were the irs and I owe money left me a message on my phone I've called them back and all I get is music I know it's a scam but I would like to screw with them a little bit for fun

Google IRS phone scams and see all the diffent stuff on this Scam and make sure u call the cops and FBI. They will try to scare people with the cops law suit freeze bank acount they told me all this stuff I will be reported them more people need tom do the same   So  others will no about this scam and save others from getting scammed y them it sounds like there Ina call center.
