Called twice within a few hours, no message

My mother got the same call. I believe it's an IRS scam.

Claimed to be the IRS with a problem for us.  Believe a scam

Claimed to be the US Department of Treasury and said I had $9k in grants then asked for my SSN. I hung right up.

I meant to put scammers,not sci.

Got a call from this number this morning ( 9-26 ), someone with in Indian accent said my phone number has been chosen at random to receive a $9,000.00 grant. I asked why I had been chosen, but did not have to do anything for the grant. The question seemed to catch whoever it was off guard. The caller when dead, but I could hear paper being rustled. I had other things to do I hung up.

I actually called them and the Indian lady answered. I told them I was investigating a fraud case and she hung up on me. It sounds like a scam. I wish I could call the cops, however; the cops don't care and will not take a report. There is a sucker born every minute and the Indian lady at this number will find one sooner or later.

I agree but not me. These stupid morons keep calling either my land line or cell phone, which block them but their number registers in the caller ID.

Sam and a few others said that I was eligible for a 9K grant from the government, which I wouldn't have to pay back.  My name and phone number was randomly selected.  I can have the money deposited into my checking, savings, on a debit card or to Wells Fargo.  I said sounds interesting, I see you're in Oregon I can just pick it up.  They hung up on me.  I keep calling back and clogging their phone lines.  My husband called and asked for Sam, wants to know why he keeps calling his wife.  The girl said "You want to speak to Sam?"  Yes.  "Please hold." Hangs up. Lol!

These people have called me on several phone numbers for the past several days and all with Indian accents.  I too called them back that I was reporting them for scamming people.

I looked up the number as they were talking and same as the rest. I listened to her sales pitch as if I was interested. Then asked them if this was a scam and what was the name of the company. She instantly hung up. I called the number to harass them back and it was disconnected.

Called me twice well I was busy, called back later saying I got a call from this number, without asking my name or anything they went into this bs about I was chosen for a $9000 grant and could pick it up via MoneyGram, Western Union or wired to my bank. I asked if there was anything I had to do to get it and she said just provide my information, meaning social security, hung up and blocked.

Called and said i have grants, they would not identify who they are, they called back and it was the same guy in a different voice and i pried for info and they still would not tell me, then they called me again being the same guy in a different accent like an indian or middle eastern playing a part.

Received the same type of call with the same scam.  Only this time it was a $10,000 grant.

The caller announced that I was granted by the US government that I won a 9k grant that I did not have to pay back since Texas was not a free state that I would only have to pay 200.00 refundable amount to get my moneyback I don't trust anything I did not apply for. Hung up!

I received two calls from this number today.  First one left a voicemail of just heavy breathing and didn't leave a message a second time. Tried calling back, but just get a busy signal.  Scam, number blocked.

They said they were from United States Government (not) they spoke with a heavy accent! I tried to call it back and Verizon is unable to connect. Why can they call with some  bogus offer and you can't call it back to complain!

Have been getting calls from this number daily for the last 2 weeks about some grant money and needing my ssn to verify my identity. Nothing has changed except for a new app I downloaded on my phone. I have a feeling that as soon.as I downloaded t h at app it sent my info to these people and probably my contacts as well and wouldn't be surprised if they are getting calls like.this too. I answered the phone yesterday "hello, this is okcpd fraud division, how can I help you?" I haven't received another call since. These stupid losers have nothing better to do than try to steal hard working people's money. Makes me sick.
