Automated voice claimed they wanted to extend my "vehicle warranty" which was about to expire.  There is no such vehicle warranty.  I pressed 1 to "talk to a person" and some dull sounding type with a deep accent came on the line.  I asked him what car was involved, after all, they called me.  He said "Sorry, wrong number" and hung up.  Wrong number, my [***].  I recently registered a used car I purchased.  However, it came with an extended warranty.  These scum are probably using some sort of department of motor vehicle list.  Note: I am on the national do-not-call registry and if I find out who these [***] are, I will have them cited.  Remember, it's $11,000 per citation.

I just got one from the same number with the same message today, Feb 09, 2008.  When I pressed 1 to talk to a person it put me on hold then hung up on me.  I don't have any car nearing warranty end however recently traded one in that was just out of warranty.  Had Out of Area on the callerID here along with the number.  Mine showed as an international call originating as country code 44 though which I thought rather strange this being the UK.

I got the same United Kingdom call last night.  Beware - do not answer if caller id says 44-207-427-8161
