Received call. No messgae left. Caller ID was Living Water. Definitely a scammer.

To all of the people who said they were on the DNC list and still got calls or they were reporting the call to the DNC. Stop wasting your time. The DNC is one of the biggest scams ever and a waste of tax payer money. Do yourself a favor and get a call blocker. Even if you are not reporting the number and are just tired
of being bothered by these calls, get a call blocker.

Most offer a 1 or 2 button push to block callers. Many will let you get some sleep and/or not be disturbed. You may never even hear the phone ring. You can block whole area codes and those numbers with an anonymous or no caller ID. There are phones which have the ability to block hundreds of these calls and also stand alone units which can block thousands of numbers. It will be the best investment you will ever make..

The DNC does work but for the legal telemarketers who adhere to the list of those numbers registered and do not wish to be called. There are a few who will try to get away with it and do not adhere to the rules but eventually they are found to be in violation and have been fined. I have had forms mailed to me on those who were real companies and called those on the donotcall list. The amount of calls we would get if there was not a donotcall registry for those telemarketers would be worse then what we are getting now since we would be getting those calls and the scammers.

It is the illegal telemarketers and scammers who are located, often out of the US and in countries where the US has no jurisdiction and who call, knowing there is nothing that can be done about it. They are the ones spoofing numbers, calling constantly, harassing innocent people. Yes, it is annoying but until technology to stop them is developed as they have developed technology to get around real numbers, it is going to continue.

I do have a call blocker, which also does not make the phone ring when a blocked call comes in. It is a great investment for me as well as the invention of caller id. At least I can screen calls (the whole point of it, why people answer when it is a strange or unknown number, is beyond me) and then block after googling it. Then I still file complaints, perhaps in the future, something can be done to stop the scammers.

It is sad when we have to resort to call blocking, whether it be on landlines or cell phones. It does give peace of mind to know we can outsmart them, even if they change their numbers. It is also sad that there are so many scammer out there without a conscience.

We all thought it said Living water Michigan but I believe is is Living water ministry shortened.  There are 27 listed.  Or perhaps the number was just spoofed.
This is only my personal generic information about unwanted calls.  I am only trying to help out here (to those naysayers who complain about my long winded rant).

ROBO CALLS: There are 800 area codes with 9,999,999 numbers. Since Robots call every number in succession, they don't need to buy lists from anyone. The FTC receives 250,000 to 300,000 complaints per month, with robocalls responsible for around 60% of those complaints.

TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR HOME PHONE: block, use call forward selective, or save calls to a phone address book as spam with a description (spam medical, spam alert, spam microsoft), and continue using this great site for information. MY HOME PHONE (Panasonic Link2Cell Bluetooth® KX-TGH263B LCD/2 Handsets) BLOCKS 250 NUMBERS AND THE ADDRESS BOOK HOLDS 3,000 numbers and the phone talks to you and says spam from across the room (like if you are up on a ladder or disabled).

TELEMARKETING:  (and I quote) "The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and found that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3% in some cases)

Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.

Have received numerous calls in the past week from this number (208-549-6781) in which caller ID says Living Water MI.  They never leave a message.  Sick of scam calls.

Caller ID said LIVING WATER MI. Did not answer, blocked number.

Got the call at 11:30 .  ID shows "LIVING WATER MI"
No message.

Came in as "unknown" with that number.  Rang three times and then hung up.

208-549-6781 on 7/21/15 @2:09PM "Living Water MI" (Weiser, Idaho - ID) is actually a spoofed # for an old number from Living Water Ministries.  I record this MED-ALERT robo-call from "Tim", I press 1, but get cut-off; WHITEPAGES says: Debbie7/17/2015---Just received a call from them - Living Waters, answered it but no one on the line so I called the number back and an automated answer says " The number you have dialed is not in service".....just another scammer;-http://www.whitepages.com/phone/1-208-549-6781- This could STILL be LifeWatch from Lynbrook NY which recently received a fine of $26 million from the FTC lawyers, because they continue to violate the Federal DNC list.

Know enough to dial a phone but not old enough to talk yet! It's got to be a 2 1/2 year old! No adult would never do this. Well, I have seen some adult's that were if 'ie or just maybe more than if 'ie !

This is the 3rd time today from this number. This is reprehensible and Verizon will not offer call blocking for anything but FIOS or their digital package. The FCC must intervene with these scam calls and force telephone companies to help block calls at no cost to customers.

They call, I call back. Line is disconnected. How the hell does a dead line call me? It is an Idaho cell phone number, but the name is blocked from the reverse look up. Mine shows up as LIVING WATER MI. Don't know if that's supposed to be Michigan or an abbreviation for something else. They don't hang up on me like normal robo calls, they are already dead. Confusing.

Got a call from this number to my cell. I rejected it since I don't know anyone in Idaho. Been getting this number for a few days now multiple times a day. Usually get a UNKNOWN NAME UNKNOWN NUMBER call about 3 to 5 minutes after I reject the call. I haven't seen the Living Water(s), Michigan that others have.

My ID shows it as Weiser, IDAHO.

The TCPA provides for either actual damages or statutory damages ranging from $500.00 to $1,500.00 per unsolicited call/message.   In determining the final amount of statutory damages to award, courts analyze whether the defendant “willfully” or “knowingly” violated the TCPA.  Considering that telemarketing campaigns often involve thousands to, in some cases, millions, of calls/text messages, potential damages under the TCPA may escalate very quickly.
The TCPA prohibits the use of automatic telephone dialing systems to call wireless phones and to leave prerecorded telemarketing messages on landlines without consent. “Automatic telephone dialing system” is defined as “equipment which has the capacity to (A) to store or produce telephone numbers to be called, using a random or sequential number generator; and (B) to dial such numbers.” The new rule clarifies this definition includes machines with a future capacity to dial randomly, sequentially and even from a list loaded into the dialer. Human intervention — like touch screen dialing button — is not sufficient to overcome ATDS status.
