- I'm ok with it| 1 replyI applied for a payday loan online. Now I get steady calls from the following numbers: 401-648-9484 and 773-492-6477. Messages are never left and I can never call the number back. I'm ok with the calls. Everybody has to make a living. Since I know what it is... I simply don't answer. The lesson here: DEAL WITH A REAL PERSON IN A REAL OFFICE IN YOUR LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD.

- Slim replies to ChuckModern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit your favorite sales site.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service
* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete. http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/one-ring-cel ... ing-your-wallet
* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group. - ART.R| 1 replythis # (209)208-0039 keeps on calling telling me they are a loan office he told me to go put a $110.00 on a green dot money pak pay-pal card and call them back with a loan approval number he gave me and he will put me on hold for about 15 to 20 mins and ill have the $500.00 dollars deposited while im on the phone and he said they will not touch the $110.00 dollars i already put on the card but why do i need to put money on a card i think this is a SCAM!! im very lucky my wife caught me before leaving out to go put money on a card for these crooks!!i asked for there name and he was saying it so fast i couldnt get it.one other thing i did call about getting a loan but it was just a big headache!!
