Got a call from this number around 12:52 PM EST.  It rang for a couple of seconds and then stopped.....no message.....I don't answer the phone for numbers I don't know and if they don't leave a message I'm definitely not calling back.  I have a special "Contact" I made on my phone called Telemarketers but I think I'll save this one under a new contact called "Scam"  and assign it the special ring tone.

Just like many others who have posted I too have registered on the National Do Not Call List but still receive calls like this.

The "Do Not Call" list is only intended to stop legitimate marketers, who maintain records that they routinely check against the list.  It does nothing to prevent unscrupulous callers who randomly dial numbers, hoping for a lead or victim.

I received a two-ring call to a private mobile phone number with a Washington State area code.  I attempted to answer but heard nothing on the line, so I hung up.  Based on the information others have reported here, I will definitely not be calling back.

The Do Not Call list is only helpful for eliminating calls from legitimate marketers, who want to comply with the law.  Scammers and fly-by-night marketers use random dialers, and would never bother checking the list.

I also use your technique of adding known-bad numbers to a "Scam" contact on my phone.  It's highly unlikely that you would receive a valid call from that same number in the future, even if someone legitimately purchases it later, and in the meantime it makes it easier to ignore.

They called; did not leave message. Not my local code.

This number has called multiple times haven't answered and no vm. Really wish I knew how to get them to stop calling it's annoying.

I got my first call from this number on the 19th of March. The next phone call I got was 3 days later. I had my phone with me the second time, but the ringtone stopped before I could answer. Thank god it did.

One ring call on 3/26/14.  Easy to block caller on iPhone so I did just that.

This number called me today too. Seen where I had a missed call, but no  voice mail left. Came on here to look it up and found where several others have also had The same problem. Not from my area code either. If you don't recognize the number don't answer it and as said in the other posts, if it's important they would leave a voice mail

They keep calling my cell phone but never leave a message!  I ignore the calls, but it's still frustrating!!!

Sat phone down and pointed my retired, Postal worker, finger at it and yelled>>>>>BANG,BANG, BANG!!!!!

Sounds like a phishing scam. They call your hang up, and then they can say they "technically" didn't call you, but you called them.
