I answered the call because the number was local to my home ---- foolish me!  It is a survey caller telling me that I have been selected to get a free trip to the Bahamas.  Sure I have!  My phone has run out of spaces for blocked numbers but the next time these people call the caller ID will say SPAM

Get a separate call blocker so you can block even local numbers. They are available locally and online and start about $40 or so.

They just called again.  Obviously I didn't answer this time.  They hung up on the answering machine.

I am trying to find a call blocker that will work with my system.  Some don't work with voip.  Some will block all calls that are not on a white list. (not good if you want to hear from old friends or are selling on craigslist and want people to call who are not on your white list.) some only work with Android, some have complicated programming that does not work with certain phone set ups.  Some charge you $10 to return a non working blocker and they send you a new one that still does not work!  some keep you from using memory dials, some have a monthly fee in addition to the purchase price.  the problem list goes on and on.  Some cost $100 and I haven't checked out how well they work because of high price.  If you know of a reasonably priced on that works with VOIP and has no problems, please let me know.

This number has called my phone twice in the last few days. Curious because it's a local call.  I didn't answer and no message left.

They've called several times. The caller ID states "Cellular Call" and the phone number. Obviously a 'burner phone', since most legit cell services will have your name automatically entered to show.
A few times they've called I've not been home. But the times they call and I am home, since I do not recognize the number, I don't answer. My answering machine is set to turn on after 5 rings. They never let it get that far. They usually hang up after 3 rings, 4 at the most. They are obviously fishing as to when someone is home, since every time they call, there is a two or three day gap, and they call at a different times. The last time they called around 1pm, tonight they called just after 7:30pm.
I'm seriously thinking about buying my own burner phone and start calling these pigs back at ungodly hours offering them a free trip to Bermuda. But I don't think it would work, because I don't think the phone numbers are legit, or they change the burner phone every few days.

Called my cell phone, I didn't pick up.  Didn't leave message.  Blocked.

Has called before, answerd this time, automated call on my cell phone phishing for c.c. info. offering free cruise. Stayed on long enough to reach human.

Download "mr.number" from the app store. It's free. There are many spam and telemarketer phone numbers in the mr. number database. If mr. number does not have the suspected phone number in its database, and you are certain who the suspected number is coming from, then you can click the spam button, enter the number, enter the organization name, and it will be stored in the database. Next time when the caller calls your phone, mr. number immediately cuts off the call so fast, your phone won't even have enough time to ring.
