phone number 209-676-8870 said they were IRS and IRS was going to file a lawsuit and to call this number. I think it is a fraudulent call and did not call number.

I too received a call from phone number 209-676-8870 that played a message saying the IRS was filing a lawsuit and to call this number.  Yeah, no. I'd expect some kind of letter in the mail if that were the case.

I received several calls the last few days that showed "Private Number" for caller ID. No message left, but when I answered today it was the same as stated above.. a recording that it was the IRS filing lawsuit. Obviously a scam.

I knew it was a scam so I called it and played dumb for just a minute, that's all it took for "Fish On"!   Me 1, Them 0  Baaahaaaaaa  Call it and tell "Mr. Lee" to get a real job!

My elderly Mother received a call from (209)676-8870 from someone posing as an IRS agent. They used the name "Keith" and gave a "Badge Number of IRM29795 and a Case Number. They threatened to come to her house and collect her possessions! Fortunately she had enough sense to hang up and call me. They called back 3-4 times and got VERY nasty one the phone. It went from scamming to harassment real quick. We were furious and the local Police were contacted. I urge anyone else receiving these calls to report to the Police. There are several online references about these IRS scams. The IRS also requests that anyone receiving calls from these scammers report information to them as well. It looks like there is a ask force assigned to these threats.

Received a call from the above # saying there was a lawsuit  against me from the irs. I called and a man with an arabic accent answered. There was a lot of noise in the background. I just hung up.

I reported it to the IRS phishing inspector.

WE JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER WITH A THREAT OF JAIL... I CALLED BACK THE NUMBER SIX TIMES AND THE SAME GUY ANSWERED HE GAVE ME AN ADDRESS OF 800 CIRCLE ST FORT LAUDERDALE FL... 41534 WHICH IS A KENTUCKY SIP CODE . HE SAID THE TELEPHONE NUMBER IS ROUTED FROM dc BUT IT'S ca ARE.A CODE

I called this number the guy picked up and I asked what company it's from and got no response he just stood quietly on the phone. Refused to give me a name or why they are calling.
It's obviously scam but not sure what.. I put all my accounts on notice of fraud and froze my credit report.
Guys are from middle east just don't know where... if anyone gets more info from them post it.

I got a call from 630-859-9364 and answered it and was played an automated message saying that they have been trying to reach me and this was my final notice that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me and to call 209-676-8870 immediately. I called the number and it rang about 10 times and then said my party was not available.

Rec'd a call and it was automated with a message of "this is the IRS we've been trying to reach you we are filing a lawsuit against you please call 209-676-8870".  Of course this startled me I had to remind myself that I'm in good standing with the IRS and that the IRS always will send initial documentation with any issue they may have with you. My intuition said immediately that it was a scam. Out of curiosity I called the number and it was busy.

EVERYONE receiving a call from this number MUST file a complaint with the FCC.  It does no good just to complain on here.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number, they will act on it!  The Do not Call registry is worthless.  Never, Ever, Ever Call back the number!  For calls like this, you can always call the IRS first to check out the legitimacy of the claim.

They called and left a message on the answering machine.  Same script; you're being sued,blah, blah. It sounded like an automated robo voice. Definite scam.

Received a message from one number in California and was asked to call this 209 #. Said they were IRS. Assuming it's a scam.  Blocking this #. Don't people have better things to do with their time.

Same crap.  Received a call from 209-676-8870.  Said the IRS is filing suit against me.  I know this is a scam, so I didn't call them back.
