    He said he was from Microsoft and had noted a problem with my computer, which he could fix. (Microsoft doesn't monitor people's computers for problems and wouldn't solicit to help by telemarketing. He most likely wanted access to my computer remotely to plant spyware or get a credit card number.) I hung up. He's called back four times and counting.

    bogus call said they were receiving reports of malicious viruses on my computer wanted me to give them information about my computer. Couldn't even tell me what version of windows I was running. gave me this number as a call back.  I taught A+ computing I'm not an idiot.

    Exactly as all of the above; in fact, before this last caller guy got through to my cell phone#, there were numerous attempts by similar sounding male callers who couldn't speak proper English--sound like Indian or Bangladeshi.

    Is attempting to trick anyone reading this thread that when a scammer like one of them calls, its ok to answer. These shills always act like the calls did wonderful things for them, so you believe it will happen to you too.  They are telling you lies about their calls because they want you to let them try scamming you.

    Called and said they were microsoft and could fix my computer unfortunately I fell for it like a fool. Got money through PayPal $200 x2 as an iTunes card and even deleted emails as cofirmation of purchase. Luckily I got my money back from PayPal, but learned alot. And now someone from the government is calling with free money NOT THIS TIME!!
