I asked him what check fraud when did this happen. He couldn't give me any answers. These people are weirdos trying to prey on innocent people.

- DebbeThis nut has been calling me for 2 weeks, when I call back there's no answer. finally I talked with him and was not able to understand ANYTHING he said. I hung up on him, then got a call from # that showed our city's city police initials. We talked and from what I could understand he needed a payment of $636.00 today. after stating I don't have it I was then instructed to go to CVS and purchase a Green Dot Coupon, then send $100.00 today . SO, I told him I am praying for his soul and if this is true, then issue an arrest warrant for me. I want this nutt and all like him to be punished. Good people are having hard enough times as it is without this cruel nonsense!!!!! Find him and I will prosecute!!!!!!

- NancyThis guy called repeatedly today and left me two messages. He had a thick accent and was very hard to understand, but indicated he was "Officer Michael Johnson of the FTC" and was calling regarding a serious matter that had to do with my social security number. He urged me not to ignore the messages and threatened legal consequences that could affect my home, my job and my social security number if I didn't call back. I have not called back and have no intention of doing so. People like this prey on one's fears in hopes of getting personal information and/or money. Beware!

- Tina| 2 repliesI just got a call from this same guy said his name was Daniel Morgan and he said that I had gotten an online loan from a company called Cash Advance USA the loan was for $335 dollars and with late fees and lawyer fees and everything I now owed $535. I needed to pay him right now or they were going to issue an arrest warrant for me. I told him I was having a very hard time understanding him and he got mad at me. Told me he would give me till Friday to come up with $100 I had to call him back and give him my information to pay this amount to keep from having a warrant issued. I don't know if I should report this to police or not any clues?
- Caller: Federal Trade Commision
- yef replies to TinaOf course you should report it! These people are criminal scammers! Do not give them any money or any of your personal information. If you have already given him any banking info, notify your bank immediately and close out that account.
- Elspeth replies to DebbeIt's against the law to use a misleading or false ID, but these spammers are probably in India (or some other country) and so no way to stop them calling or threatening you. Report to FTC and FBI on their websites and just block the number, or better yet, let any calls from numbers you don't recognize go to voicemail.
- Gunnar replies to TinaYou can file a report with the police if it will make you feel better. There's nothing they can do. These frauds are well outside their jurisdiction. You're better off filing complaints with the FTC. Not much will come of that either, but perhaps after they receive a couple more million complaints they'll actually get off their behinds and come up with a plan. I doubt it though, they're bureaucrats.
Just ignore the pathetic fraud or block his calls. He's nothing but a foul pest. He can't do anything but make noise. No "warrants". Not anything.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Gunnar - JaimeI just received a call from this number and he gave the whole thing that he gave Tina but I told him I couldn't do anything right now because I was at work, he is expecting for me to call back by noon. It was a little scary when he said everything about the police but as the conversation went on i had doubts so I googled the number and thank god this came up.
- acFirst, anything to do with the government (FTC is federal government), they do not call, nor do they send emails. I received an email sayung they had not been able to reach me on a collection from Cash Advance that was subject to expire soon, and a warrant for my arrest would be issued Wednesday 2016 (one of 52 Wednesdays in the year). Second, I had a scam payday loan (which I don't use) pulling money out of my bank account a few years ago. i turned them over to the FTC and got most of my money back recently. Enough people turned these people over to the FTC, so they did a class action lawsuit against the company. I am sending my email to the FTC in hopes that many other people do as well. It may even get this Daniel person locked up, where he belongs. I hope at least the majority of you respondents due the same. The Federal Government only sends this kind of correspondence through the USPS.
