Says he is a troubleshooter from the Windows company and wants to help you fix your computer. Bulls**t.

guy said he was calling because my windows license had expired
and my computer would be blocked if I didn't renew...

I received a call from Caller ID said New York, 212-000-6546 saying he was from Microsoft. The guy sounded asian, very persistent. Telling me my computer was sending error & virus signals to their office and he was calling to tell me how to fix it. He told be to start pressing a certain sequence of buttons on my computer. I told him I wasn't doing anything until I could verify that this was really Microsoft. After I hung up on him, I contacted Microsoft and asked them and they said they do not contact their customers unless we contact them first and then they schedule a time for them to call us back. So please don't be fooled in to doing what these scammers are asking you to do.

I received the call from an indian sounding guy told him not to call back and hung up.  he immediately called right back I told him to loose my number and not call back.  he said there was a high volume of error messages being sent from my computer.  I know this is a lie because they do not contact you unless you contact them first. Caller ID reads NAME NOT FOUND 212-000-6546.

received a call from a man stating that he represents Microsoft, to notify me that there is a country-wide hacking and Microsoft is contacting their customers to assist them in what could be a devastating hacking.
I was asked to go to my computer and turn it on and they will walk me through the steps.  I told them i am not near my computer and I will call them back and asked for a number, They gave the number 855 225 7577.  The initial call came in from 212 000 6546.  I called back both numbers, messages as follows:
"this is not a working number"
"your call cannot be completed"

BEWARE

Just received a call.  I answered but hit mute right away.  Lots of "call center" noise in the background then a female voice: "May I speak to Janice?  May I speak to Janice?" then just hung up.  She sounded American.

Just got a call from this number. He says he's with windows and our computer is sending error messages. Have gotten many calls from this number. From an Ethan first and today it was a Roger. We know it is a scam so we thought it would be funny to play with them by saying we do not have a computer. He says that our address shows we have one computer. Thought that was interesting so we said don't know where you are getting your info but take us off that list and do you have a number I could call you back at. He told me to F-OFF. So I said "Go f yourself you bas****." and hung up on him. I'm not going to fall for this scam, those scammers are so stupid.

Invalid number and last 4 digits keep changing and now its 6 to 7 times a day

I talked to this guy for a couple minutes.  He had the same story saying he was from windows and my computer is sending over 5000 error messages a day.  And if I don't fix the problem, my computer will crash.  I ask him again for his company name and he said it was Technical Support.  Then I asked him for the website of his company.  He told me www.windowssupport.com.  after I then told him that the website was "under maintenance".  He said "hold on" then came back a few seconds later and said it was www.microsoftwindowsusa.com.  After that I told him I didn't even own a windows computer.  Then he said is it a Mac or an Apple?  I said they were one of the same and if he didn't know that he really shouldn't be trying to scam off someone's computer.  After that he said he would transfer my call to the apple department.  I hung up.  He then proceeded to call my phone over 8 times in a row and finally hung up after I didn't answer.

Just got the same call.  Everytime I hung up, he called back.  I finally yelled into the phone that I would contact the police if he called again.

I get calls from this number and they will not stop calling. Scammers. I told the to stop calling and they are harassing by calling several times through the day

This number has called many times.  Getting sick and fed up, calls all hours.  He said he was from Microsoft, I keep hanging up and telling him; Microsoft does not call people.. and you are violating.. he hung up and got someone else to call with a Chinese accent.  I proceeded to tell this new guy that I am not interested and if you call back again I will report him.  I just got the call.  Now.. I know Microsoft does not call people at home.. or at work.. I will go ahead and report this to Microsoft.

I don't answer but they keep calling. I have enough BS to put up with on a daily basis. I don't need this added to it. ID says New York.

I got this same phone call yesterday.  I've had 3 since the start of this year.  Had I been an elderly person that is not too sure he would have gotten them to do exactly what he wanted.  I am not putting down the elderly at all  I love them but with the Asian tone this guy had and his persistency and getting very loud he definitely would have gotten some.  They would have feared him.  When I told him not to call again he still was telling me to type these certain keys in so I hung up.  I picked up the phone again after about 25 to 30 seconds and he was still there he had never hung up.  I told him to leave me alone and not to call again and that I was calling the police dept.  He said go ahead I'll wait on the line.  I hung up and he called my number again.  How do we get rid of harassers like that?  I did call the cops and they tell me there was not a whole lot they could do unless harm was done to the computer or to myself.  They gave me a fraud hotline # 866-966-7226 to call so I could report it.  I think they just log it in and the more complaints they get on an account then they decide what they're going to do.  Ugh!

I knew this was probably a spoofing number. I didn't answer the phone. I have caller ID and answering maching.  The caller didn't leave a message. I will not answer if I don't know who it is.
