I receive 1-2 phone calls a day from this number wanting me to lower my credit card bills.  Each time I ask to be put on their do not call list, they hang up on me.  Just now, when I asked, she said she would notify her supervisor.  I asked to be put through to the supervisor and another girl got on the phone and accused me of cussing her and then told me that she couldn't put me on her do not call list because she doesn't have fingers and then she said she was putting me on hold to listen to music.  She put me on hold and then checked back twice to see if I was still there and then hung up on me.  Stupid Morons

    1) I did not call you.

    2) I rarely go into the borough of Manhattan, which carries the 212
area code, and spend my time primarily in the 516 and 631 area codes.
    My phones are all516-exchange.

    3) If I were to call you, you canbe assured that the call would be
utterly untraceable. I have an advanced phone system which fully masks
my number, and makes it untraceable. It costs me a lot, and if I want
to keep it, I have to use it responsibly. I would not want to waste my
    money on you.

Now, do you think I am stupid? It is obvious that a phone call to you
would provoke just the thing I have asked to end. I have no desire to
    hear your voice.

If you still have the phone number, please post it here. Since it is
not mine, I do not care if it posted in every newsgroup in existence.
I would love for you to post it, as I will call it myself, after
learning who owns it and I will post that information right here.

Now, post it, or admit you lied. Do not try the "I do not have it
anymore" gambit, since it is well known you, like a pack rat, save
everything you think is negative about me.

The ball is in your court. Either post, or you concede you lied. There
    is NO 3rd choice.

    None.

To the gutless, spineless anonymous coward who hides behind a 'nym, I never have used that phone number. Come back and use your real name. My family and I have been stalked, harassed and abused by Jan Drew because I am Jewish, and she hates Jews. There is no way what-so-ever that you can know who made the call.

    N/A
I received a phone call from 212-000-9876 a little while ago. I was on the computer and this phone number came thru my Call Wave answering machine. I immediately got off and called this phone number back, but as the middle 3 numbers were 000 I knew it wasn't a legitimate phone number, so the operator said this number is not a correct number. I did look up the 212 area code and it shows to be a NY phone number. Please check this out as I am tired of getting phone numbers that aren't legitimate. Thanks.

    It's a Credit Card SCAM
People - For starters, There is NO "000" PREFIX anywhere in the USA - ever! So if you see that, you know the number is spoofed (faked).

Sadly, with the advent (and ease) of products like "MagicJack" now *ANYONE* can have a "local" USA phone number to try to scam you out of your credit card info -

The PROBLEM is - the Government cannot "track" these VOIP phone calls and numbers - for as soon as they get a lock on them, all the CROOK simply has to do is unplug (probably from Nigeria or the likes) and simply move to a different IP - It's a terrible problem with new technology in the new millennium...
