Called and hung up.  I don't doubt that it was some broker from AXA cold calling.  I get broker calls all the time.

I picked up a call from this number on the second ring, said "Hello," and the caller disconnected.

I recognized the number so I didn't pick up.  They've harassed me before, and even after reporting them to the regulatory agency (FINRA), they have not stopped.

They didn't leave a message this time, which makes it easier for me to ignore their calls.

The person, John, is from Axa Advisors and said they were based on Broadway in New York City. He wanted to setup a meeting in my employers building (not affiliated) to discuss Financial Advice (tax, 401K etc).

These guys have been calling every few days at work. I don't pick up unless I recognize the number. I just thought of searching for this number and ended up on this website.

LOL sounds like they made you a "job" offer and you accepted -- if you call scamming honest people a "job". So is making posts on here part of your new "job" too?

Just received the call, my assistant picked up and the person hung up. No clue if AXA or not, but likely since I work at a law firm.

This call was from AXA Financial services.  During their script, I said that I wasn't interested and eventually hung up.  I felt bad before I found this site.  I have no idea how they got my work number.

They hounded me a bit, I eventually took a meeting and doing business with them. They actually have a lot to offer. I got life insurance as well as got my retirement accounts over to them. They took care of things for me that I generally don't have the time to take care of

Do not give out any private information to this fake caller. He is phishing fro some private credit card numbers and bank accounts. Called me and told me that I filed for financial assistance. I never did that in my life, by I played along just to see what is the cal really about and at the end they asked to pay small fee to process everything since my loan was approved. What a load of crap.

Not stupid enoug to use AXA
These guys aren't educated and don't even know the first thing about finance.  I can manage my money better than they can.

My work line isn't posted ANYWHERE, only on my internal email that only goes to internal employees yet somehow they got my number and since I don't get calls from external numbers my assumption was this was someone affiliated with my company. Once I realized they had no affiliation with my company I politely declined his meeting which elicited a rather off-putting response. I have absolutely no desire to do any business with them and am still weirded out how they got my work line...

Me declining his offer to meet:
I apologize but I misunderstood what you were calling about earlier, I thought this was related to a project we have going on with one of our financial groups. I actually am not looking to do any financial planning at this moment in time but I will let you know if things change. Thanks for your time, sorry for the misunderstanding.

His response (the end is what put me off and prompted me to look into it more which led me to this site):
No worries, I know the time would be well spent if we took out the 10 minutes to meet. I've yet to meet anyone that doesn’t need any help with their personal finances and I would love to see if you can be the first.

Don’t do business with or work for the AXA fiends. Here's what I witnessed at AXA?

    • Numerous client complaints from unsuitable investment recommendations and poor customer service.

    • Reports of dishonest activities and taking advantage of customers, driven by greed with a total disregard of industry regulations.

    • Illegal kickbacks and ponzi schemes have been reported with charges and litigation pending against this company.

    • The sales force not meeting regulatory requirements to conduct business as registered investment advisors.

    • Testimonials from employees and customers revealing disturbing facts about compliance violations, unethical behavior and criminal activities.
