Got a call from 949-210-9072 and this is the number he gave me to call back - 212-660-0146, said his name is Kenneth Shelton.  He says that there is something wrong with my Windows operating system and there is a virus. DON'T CALL BACK THIS NUMBER. THIS IS A SCAM FROM WHAT I HAVE READ LOOKING UP THE 949-210-9172. HE WON'T GO AWAY!

Similar, call on 4/26/12 from PC Optimizer, said that I had a dangerous virus, malware, spyware infection and was my computer on.  He gave me the call back number 212-660-0146 and said his name was Logan Smith.  Yeah, more like Veejay from Bangalore, India.  This was an unsolicited call to my home phone.  Claimed to handle virus protection for all Windows operating systems, like they are some exclusive provider.

I got the same call... He wants to walk you through the steps to letting him hack into your computer. Once he does this, you can bet any bill you've paid, any credit card you've used to order on line will be in his hands!!! I told this guy he was literally asking for my social security number by asking me to let him have access to my computer and I couldn't identify him in a line up. He gave me that same old line about calling back and finding out if he was ligit. Well I google PC optimizer on the internet and it says they are a fake malware company. I just reported this guy and company to the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection... I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same!!!

We had maybe 4 calls from the same voice telling us our computer was infected with Malware.  He first said his name was James from Alien Stutch, contracted by Windows.  Knew we had Vista.  I asked for his phone # and he gave 212-660-0146.  We keep telling him to not call back and we don't trust him.  I think he called again today, but this time said he was calling from - can't remember if he said Windows or Microsoft - one of those.  I told him he doesn't sound a bit American and to stop calling us. Definitely an accent from India.  Just finished a chat window with Microsoft.  They said it was a scam and to call the local authorities.  I haven't documented this well enough.

Have had serveral calls from 706-805-1145, talk about my operating system. Needed updated or something. told me to call back 212-660-0146. He didn't speak very good English.

They are still at it, tried my cell twice and he claimed with a thick East Indian accent, "This is not a scam ma'am." Yeah, sure you bettcha your pointy teeth it is. Mine was staff number AT167, name Dominic. Dominic really? Gave me the 212-660-0146 (NY phone number as though customer service would set up shop in Manhattan) number to call after calling me on the 949-210-9072 (So Cal phone number).

If you are worried take your machine to someone who actually is paid to help you.

I got a call from  Tom,  said he was from pc optimizer gave me the 212- 660- 0146 number to call back. I said I have Norton antivirus protection. He said that will not help. I just hung up.  I have had several calls from someone saying they are from Microsoft windows, I just hang up.
