Company is Precharge (precharge.com).  They work for numerous credit card companies to monitor against online fraud.  They are probably just calling to verify a recent online purchase you made, so you should probably call them back.

I had made an online purchase yesterday from a Mpls merchant.  Precharge called and only asked if I made a purchase from that merchant for $xx.  No other info was requested.   I asked how they knew the exact figure.  Was told they work with the merchant and they were verifing the charge on my Visa.

I made a purchase on yahoo stores and precharge called the next day to confirm, I said yes, they said thank you have a nice day.

They called me two days in a row about a "job" that they said I inquired about with them. When I asked them their company name, they pretended not to hear me and kept trying to ask me personal questions. I told them to remove my number from their database and hung up on them. In both cases, it was someone with an Indian accent. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

I agree with Maurice.  His caller said he had gotten a job and asked for personal information.  The caller would not tell Maurice which company he worked for.  The caller was phishing.

"not Michael" if you read the post, they were calling about a job Maurice inquired about. Learn to read. You people really are just stupid, no wonder you need a job but good luck with that.

In all liklihood not Michael is correct, and what's more, you sound like one of these scammers too.

We see this pattern on here all the time, where some scorned scammer who wasn't able to trick a potential victim lashes out when their failed victim makes a post on here. Who else is going to be motivated to call somebody an idiot for identifying such an obvious scam?
